Scran and Yenser got to go

Eddie Gran would have adjusted and beat SC with CRod and one of Crowder/Brown/Robinson running RPO in the backfield

Towards the end of the year coen finally came around to the college concepts of QB read and rpo. Completely changed the once sputtering offense.

Think about it. After the first game nearly every will Levis highlight was a result of him running the ball. Sure he had some nice throws sprinkled in but it was mostly running. For some guys, getting hit gets them in the game. He's one of those guys. Yet he needs to preserve his body and we owe him that as well. Tough situation because you can't trust him to get down when he runs

Not gonna lie Barion brown with Crod behind would’ve done it for me that game.
Lynn Bowden 2.0.
BB played quite a bit of QB in HS

I would’ve been fine with it more than that crap show we put on.

And do what? Force our offense to have their fourth coordinator in four years? How’s that a recipe for success?

We wouldn’t be as pissed if we had won one or both of Ole Miss or SC. Levis being hurt cost us the SC game. We should have beat Ole Miss. A penalty cost that game. As much as we all hate to say it, UT is damn good. Huepel can coach and it sucks.
Actually Levis not allowing his team to get set before the ball was snapped assisted in UK losing to Ole Piss, also 2 missed extra points and a missed chip shot FG. Ultimately though Levis cost the Cats that TD catch because of snapping the ball before Key was set

It was brown who was moving, but never the less we should’ve never been in that position if we could play halfway competent football. That is the definition of doing everything you can to lose the game.

Exactly. Levis is Uber talented in the arm department. But his biggest games (LSU and UL) it’s bc he was shredding teams with the RPO and then taking advantage of a stacked box to hit the big play to Wandale off RPO action.

Shit that targeting that wasn't called on the fumble was huge in that Ole Miss game. I don't use officiating very often to blame a loss on but 2 separate calls or lack of did cost us late in that game. Now, whether the SC game was won/lost cause of the Levis injury is unknown but I believe we should've been 6-0 or that's my view on it. As for tonight this is a bunch of shit! We were fine at 20-6 til the INT that sets it up to be 27-6 at halftime instead of 20-13 with the ball to start the 2nd half so it's a bunch of shit but it all went to shit with that RedZone interception. So mistakes × mistakes+ more mistakes = big ass loss tonight. Mistakes are indeed wat did the trick tonight.
No the non targeting call wasn't, Cats essentially had the game winning TD catch except Levis got in a hurry and called for the snap before his team was set, causing illegal procedure and wiping out the go ahead TD with 30 sec. left. Plus the two missed extra points and missed FG

I know ppl hate on triple option football theses days but I personally love it. And I think a school like us who struggles to consistently get high level QBs and WRs could benefit from being a gimmicky or schemey offense.

Even if you don’t want to go full triple option, I’d love to go spread option concepts the way The Marcus Mariota Oregon Ducks were. Run first out of a tempo offense and then hit the big pass plays that are set up off speed option and rpo concepts

Well coached OL's can perform well without elite talent. This is mainly coaching. Yenser and whoever the special teams coach is should have been fired at halftime.

I just watched UK of 5-6 years ago when we just weren't well coached. Stoops has some major issues to fix. Its sickening that EweT fixed theirs in 2 years and we're still taking 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards.

Levis is half the player he was last year. Thats partly on our OL, partly on our useless OC and partly on him. I think he's bought in to his own hype.
There is NO special teams coach, Stoops has only had one...that was Dean Hood. For stupid reason Stoops doesn't think one is needed. Guess we've been seeing g since Hood left that Stoops has been horribly wrong

Folks, we struggled to block and score on Youngstown State. We had a HUGE talent advantage in that game and still struggled. It's not the lack of talent. It's a lack of coaching and bad schemes.

This, a lot of people on here want to use the oline as an excuse for all our problems.
Tennessee-Martin managed to score 24 against Tennessee last week and their QB had 301 passing yards as well. Does anyone really think they have better OL talent than UK?

It’s a line of scrimmage league. Tennessee owned both lines; Tennessee has an elite front four, their back seven, not so much. Hooker would look mediocre if he was in Levis’s position.
I partially agree.

Our line has progressively gotten better, it's not as bad as it was the first few weeks of the season.

To me, the biggest two differences are scheme and pace. UK is playing old man football. Huddle up, take your time and run plays that make little sense. What Scang ran in the South Carolina game was so bad it was criminal.

Tennessee jams it right down your throat. They don't let you get set up, or make adjustments. You’re on your heels.

UK could easily run that system if they wanted to. Will Levis is a true dual threat QB, he has the best running back in the league and a great stable of receivers. Yeah, the O line is not as good, but what's the difference? They have to block in both systems, so it doesn’t matter.

That Pick in the 2nd qtr was the lucky bounce they got to win that ballgame on. It was completely over at that point. We had it marching down the field and into the RedZone and if we score right there instead of throwing a INT the whole thing is different as score goes to 20-13 provided we get lucky and make PAT. Also, maybe it gets the crowd simmered down for just long enough to get to halftime down only 1 score, and our ball to start the 2nd and if we get that TD, or just any points for that matter maybe get a little confidence booster.. then has a chance to grow some more and get guys clicking if it ever becomes a 20-20 game but instead hell with all that and go the locker room looking at a 27-6 halftime score with a team who's just not in sync and nobody looks close to being on same page most of time.

That lucky bounce we needed was that 2ndQ pick. Was stupid how it even happened. Unlucky shit. Then that also causes even more scared play calling as if it wasn't already shaky enough.

But I'll say a lucky bounce or 2 is always big and much needed in any game and esp the kind of environment like last night. They smacked us but nothing we was gonna do about it in the 2nd half. I also hate bye weeks btw. Sometimes rest is good for guys with injuries but mainly bye weeks seem to always do more harm than good. It just seems to throws shit off and this team is already off far enough. We don't have the chemistry of the Wisconsin Vadgers Volleyball team. That's what this team needs.
This game was over when Stoops won the coin toss and elected to kick and give a prolific fast offense the ball.....and that offense proceeded to go down the field and score in 50 or so seconds....

With a low scoring tortoise offense you can't afford to start from behind, especially 13 pts. behind, the tortoise offense isn't geared to be a come from behind offense against a much better team. Only way the Cats were going to win this game was if UT stayed in the locker room

By watching this offense this season you'd never know Levis is a dual threat

OK.. well maybe it wasn't targeting but for whatever reason on a play when Levis fumbles it seems in Ole Miss game I seem to remember a little helmet to helmet contact. Now I can't say for certain now what I saw unless I go back and look again now which I don't care that much to do because we still took the Loss and we shouldn't have... we had the damn ball in the RedZone twice late late in that game and mistakes, turnovers, flags, Special Teams and everything you can think of kept us from getting one on the road. So, if it's non targeting then it was gonna be something else either way.

The offensive line needs to go.
They cannot block.
We do not have talent on the line.
I actually believe we do have talent. Perhaps it needs alot more work but I think there is talent there. I truly believe its the scheme that they have trouble with.

He just needs to hire a GREAT offensive coordinator I guess . I mean , it’s evident that Stoops knows very little about modern college football offense.
He needs to actually let the OC do their job in my opinion. I believe he just kills them though the game telling them to do this and that. You can’t hire someone and then tie their hands behind their back. I believe he probably tried last season but things started out so well he left them alone and let Coen actually call plays. This season has Stoops/Gran offense all over it. I also believe that Gran is helping a little more than we thought. Man it’s amazing what two or three weeks can do for a program during the season isn’t it. Lol. I guess 8-4 will have to do. Anything less, I’ll be in a bad mood for a couple days. Ha.

And that guy isn’t doing well with the Rams. 1 solid coordinator out of however many Stoops has had isn’t impressive. Especially considering at least 2 of them came into UK having been successful OC’s at their previous jobs.
I have to agree that Coen did well here but he hasn't set the world on fire with the Rams and they are coming off of a Super Bowl win. My guess is if they don't turn it around quick he is unemployed by next year.

Fans love some revisionist history. Coen really struggled in the sec too up till the LSU game where their team already practically quit.

Difference was coen held all the cards so stoops left him alone. He was hands off earlier this year then slowly we went back to grinding the ball on 1st and 2nd down. That's stoops mo. Was the kiss of death when he told the gameday crew "we are who we are". What he meant was we're going back to heavy run.

He should've said we were going to be balanced and he has alot of faith in our offensive coaches and their game plan.
