Scoop (potentially big news)

This is true. However, this is UK/Cal we are talking about. There’s a different set of rules for us. It is what it is.
Hopefully that ship sailed when Emmert left town. The NCAA has been awfully quiet these last few years, so if they blow up and decide to make UK/Cal's life a pain (again), it'll be so damned obvious, the media better remove the sock from their mouths and speak up.

IMO Cal has made changes but they didnt work.Talent has been down past 5 years. I don't think Cal fears losing his job. I would think his motivation comes from being made fun of. Guys sec teams were laughing at us last year. If im Cal I don't forget that, ever.
Yea but Cal also said all that after the 9-16 team and last year happened again.

I don't think Cal was prioritizing basketball during covid. Cal has been one of the best. He knows what it takes to be elite. Its hard for me to believe Cal fear's being fired.

Most of Calipari's problem has been related to personnel. This is his issue 100% so please don't tell me I am giving him a pass...

I believe it is a fact that he simply hasn't had the personnel to make real adjustments to run a 4 or 5 out offense. I think player evaluation severely tanked after the '18-'19 season. It really started with the whole Askew situation. I think if we land Cade Cunningham that year that season never would have played out like it did. It also would have led to better recruits for '21-'22.

Recruiting dipped and it took him years to recover. Inexcusable, but I think this was the issue in retrospect. This was both a player and staff personnel issue.

I love this. International pipeline would be a good one to explore. Although NCAA makes it harder on us to actually get them cleared. International players are dominating the league. Top like 4 or 5 players aren't from the US. Now Wemby.
4 of top 5 are very deatable/ opinionated. How about top 20 ? Yes there a some Internatinal stars. Jokic, Greek Freak, Embid, Luca. But several US players are there also. The league is still very American heavy.
So the new assistants have nothing to do with getting us some of the best players we have had in A LONG time. So are you saying Cal pulled in the class on his own. You must be hanging on his nuts!!
Yes actually Cal did sign the Mega class. Welch is not a recruiter. He had nothing g to do with signing the 4 top 15 guys. Wagner was a Cal lean when he was born lol look hate the man all you want. Recruiting is why he does best. He missed on a few guys the last few years, Noone is perfect.

No hate of Cal on my part. Don’t like everything he does but if he is our coach I want him to win!! He definitely pulled DJ from history. I think Reed wanted to come here. Cal recruits well but I definitely think our assistants are doing better on recruiting. Joel and Barbee just didn’t pull in many guys. O and Chin are known as recruiters. This big guy looks great on tape. Cal had hinted something happening in August could this be it.

Game changer. Rich man’s Ike Humphries.
I would have loved to see Isaac come back the best year. He was really developing at the end of 2017 in the tournament.
Really like his game. Think he gives us more than what Bradshaw would have given us. Never been sold on Bradshaw, great potential but don’t think it will be recognized until after he has already left UK.
we will see. Kid hasn’t even had a chance to suit up yet. I like this guy though.

I agree but Cal and the way he’s acted was different around this time too. I think it was a combination of things but it ultimately falls on him. That’s why he makes almost 200k a week.

But should not a HOF coach be able to adjust with the personnel he has- if you have to have the best personnel to win all the time, then I think alot of people can do that but what sets great coaches apart is they win without having the best players and still not sure Cal can do that- it seems he sticks to 1 way no matter what and just does not make adjustments, just my opinion

Agree for the most part.

Ibis I is a wildcat!!! I like what he brings to the table and feel he’sore than an insurance policy for Bradshaw and Ugo. Ugo may have a hard time getting playing time if Ivisc is everything he’s projected to be!! #GoCats

Scoop had Mitchell and Ivisic, did he have Reeves too. Is Cal letting KSR back in though Ryan.

Change the narrative however you want to justify getting back on the bandwagon.

The new assistants have nothing to do with it. And one season ago we were a 2 seed. Cal is the same guy he's been since he walked in the door.
Speaking of changing the narrative, didn't we lose to a 15 seed the year we were a 2 seed?

Do we hang "seed" banners in Rupp?

No UK fan is this obtuse. Which team are you actually a fan of?

I've thought for awhile we need someone on the team to provide what AD gave us in college for us to have the best chance at another title.

And every hockey team is a Gretzky away from a Stanley Cup.
Well. He's fairly raw now, but we need someone willing to protect the rim AND grab rebounds if the others are struggling. With his skill set it would be automatic yes, certainly if his passing game stands up, but he apparently focuses on shooting and we will have enough talent there. The availability of our bigs will be a question mark. Watching the tournament in Canada, the other team was eating our lunch on the boards because it wasn't a primary ability or role with who was on the floor. You can't have that against the top college teams in the world.
