Rushing against Ole Miss

Sacks count against the run total, Brock took a few. so outside of those the numbers would have been better than they show.

Yes, of course, but the stats are always shown that way and the sack yardage BV suffered is an implicit indication of how impressive it was that we were able to endure and win the game.

Take Brock out of it, our running backs ran 18 time for 70 yards (3.9 ypc) which is mediocre. Add in Wimsatt's 9 carries for 26 yards and it's 3.6 ypc. We had a little success in the first half but they shut us down in the 2nd.

THe rushing was really

Demi - 11 rushes for 47 yards
Wilcox 7 rushes for 23 yards
Wimsatt 9 rushes for 26 yards
Brock is hard to unwind as he had a few pure rushes...but mostly scrambles and some sacks baked in

So taking Brock out

27 rushes for 96 yards for 3.5 yards per rush. Not really good...but not terrible. I'd call it below average on the whole.

I like in the Ole Miss stats that Kattus is shown for rushing for 2 yards on zero attempts. Head scratcher if you didn't know what actually happened. Shows 0.0 for average, but 2/0 = infinity.

How do you overcome a mediocre rushing performance?

Hold you opponent to an even worse total!!

Kentucky net rushing: 93.

Ole Miss net rushing: 92.

Maybe that yard was the difference in a close game!!
Precisely ... 100% !!!!
