By far the most players I've ever seen commit in one day that had been committed to another school(s) -- this is ridiculous

Need to stop calling these verbals a "commitment".

It amazes me how easily these kids will de-commit from a school that they have been in contact with for sometimes up to a year, then sign with another school that offers them when their top target commits to another school. Which basically is saying to the kid, "You are nothing but a roster filler for our program". It's really mind boggling that a kid would "Flip" to a school to get recruited over and ride the pine.

It's a cycle. Stoops I'm sure realizes this, but we're going to deal with this until we can start winning. That's why he had to nail the first two classes to get a base to change the talent level. Now it's all about doing the best you can until these guys mature and we can compete in the SEC.

Does anyone really doubt this staff will be able to recruit once we we're winning 7-8 games? Of course not. Now they just need to get to 6 this year, then the next year they need to get 7 in the reg season and win the bowl game. Then you'll see consistently better classes.

Most Kentucky football fans have thought this way for the last half century with one coach or another and outside of some brief success with 2-3 coaches (Brooks, Claiborne, etc) it's never even been close to enough to getting us over the hump. I'm not throwing in the towel, Stoops seems to have his act together and he seems committed to this cause but we are definitely going to have to be patient and pray that once he attains the heights we all so desperately want that he doesn't bolt for an elite job. That's just where our program is and has been since Bryant left, again outside of some brief successes. Stoops does seem to be on the right path though. Hopefully this 2015 class doesn't derail the foundation he is laying.

One class won't derail anything. But like you I've been following this program for over 30 years and IMO the only way this thing is ever going to get built is to stick behind a guy who seems to be doing the right things. Will it work, no idea, but it's crazy to jump ship now. There's zero evidence that he will fail.

And I'm not saying that to anyone in particular. It's just that all the hand wringing over this years recruiting, and the "implications" is a little overboard in my opinion.

I saw were South Carolina had 9 guys who flipped to other schools, just like UK. Georgia had 7 guys who flipped, Florida also had 7 or 8 as well. That's just in the SEC. They are saying that there is an abnormally high number of flips this year across the country so its not just UK.

Recruiting guys cannot like all the flipping...makes subscribers want to back out and just wait until the dust settles...no reason to follow these commitments for a year, only to have them back away from your school and go somewhere else.

there has been a nationwide epidemic of kids flipping
maybe, just maybe this will prod the NCAA into an early signing period

I agree it's not just UK, that's obvious, but it hurts us more than the schools with better talent bases.

Hatcher, McWilson, Tubman, Krok, Ware, Brown, Westry flipped to Kentucky from other schools. Have not seen anyone here complain about them. Suspect we will get another flip or 2 tomorrow. Sign of the times.
