With the recent implosion of the UL Athletic Department, how do you think it effects UK? Is it important/necessary for a team's rival to be performing well to bring out the best in itself?

The answer to your question in general is yes.

I have never lived in Jefferson County. I went to UK when we did not play UL in basketball or football or, really maybe nothing. I don't see UL as a rival. I see it as an irritation.

UK was great before the University of Adidas and will be great after as well. We are UK, they are a commuter school by the Ohio River.

I think rivalries are collateral damage of OAD,for fans they (rivalries) still exist but for players and basketball teams they really don't.Football is different, players are at schools long enough for them to embrace a rivalry but in college basketball not so much

Before we played the University of Louisville every year our basketball program had Five NCAA Titles and a couple of Helms National Championships. So we were doing just fine before they came along.
