Cal is having one of those “hold my beer” moments with recruiting lately. Glad to see he has that fire back in him!
Who's the other center ... big guy committed besides Somto? Is he for the following year?
Quantaince he is the one who has to do 2 years at uk or another league

This had to be purposely done for the Louisville game. Two wins in one day.
Need Edgecombe and Knox now and a big or 2 from the portal.
It helped getting rid of some dead weight on the coaching staff too
Knox would be extra, obviously would take him, give me edgecomb or Peterson and see if anybody comes back and go from there
Richmond can’t shoot at all so definitely need a couple of perimeter shooter/scorers if Cal is going to embrace the direction of the game and focus on shooting/scoring.
Why did Cal recruit him if he can't shoot? All Cal has talked about recently is the need to recruit kids that can stretch the floor. Is Richmond just expected to provide depth?
I hope this means we aren’t out of the running for Edgecomb.

Definitely feels like a traditional Cal recruit. Great motor and athletic. His recent recruiting profile said he shot 25 percent from 3 and has deficiency in his shooting mechanics that will need to be addressed.
Kansas, Alabama and Miami among others wanted him.
Richmond is the consummate glue guy and a winner. I love this pick up! Haven’t had a guy like him since MKG and he should pair nicely with the guys Cal is still targeting.
The difference being that those programs DEVELOP guys who come back rather than just recruiting over them. Maybe with Welch and staff that will change, but it's not how Cal has done things. It's usually one or the other.
Worst kept secret in recruiting. It was always gonna happen. Just a question of when.

Good complementary pieces ... needs a top 5 elite player to join them all if everyone departs as expected.

Richmond has said defense is his thing.
Most people thought he would end up at UK. Was thinking he was waiting until the spring. Get Edgecombe this fall and recruiting might be done with without a reclass candidate.
So stoked about this young man. If he develops a jump shot he will be an elite player.
Thanks. I haven't followed him all that closely so didn't know his strengths and weaknesses. Even if he's not a great shooter currently (hopefully he can improve), definitely a role for a good defensive player and hopefully we can surround him with enough shooters to space the floor.
I don't "troll", I only state my opinion. Am I negative sometimes? Absolutely, but I'm also a realist. We've known for years that the best recruits came here to get immediate playing time and then bolt for the draft. Why you're (seemingly) disputing that is weird. There is the occasional top recruit who chooses to stay rather than risk it in the draft, but that is nowhere near the norm. Try not to be so sensitive.
