You can be a savant and call shitty plays.Scang was a savant, according to all of the reports out of UK. He was an encyclopedia of football knowledge. White praised him. Stoops praised him. What the hell happened?
1.5 million of free money.Handing out insane raises while we have to have scape goats.
Only at kentucky
Many. Just go back and read the threads from that time.Who complained?...
I wouldn’t mind Brian hartline from Ohio state if he were interested In the job, but coen is good as well
Stoops raise is relative to revenue and headaches. I can assure you his headaches have more than doubled with NIL. The issue with your post is referring to Scan as a scapegoat. No, he was not competent for this job and was rightfully let go. What you're inferring with "scapegoat" is absurd.
Could it be he's just following orders? You can be a savant and call shitty plays.
That or the Curse of the Bear got him.
Doubtful; Stoops is a defensive minded HC.Could it be he's just following orders?
IMO, he spoke to freely to the press. Coen hinted at the things Scang went ahead and said.Scang was a savant, according to all of the reports out of UK. He was an encyclopedia of football knowledge. White praised him. Stoops praised him. What the hell happened?
I wish Stoops would have influenced Scang to shore up that OL. We ran our man-of-steel QB through a meat grinder this year.Doubtful; Stoops is a defensive minded HC.
Stoops may influence White on occasion but not Scang.
His recruiting connections alone would be good, play calling might be a issue but for somebody has been around football as long as he is I bet he would find a good rhythm play calling. He is probably a long shot anywaysHartline can recruit. He's never called plays before though. He's the type who could own Ohio's best players that don't have a Buckeye offer.
He checks some good boxes, but isn't a slam dunk. Speculation is that he is well off from NFL money, loves Columbus, and isn't interested in climbing the ladder yet.

I may be out of the loop, but aren't Stoops' raises a function of incentives (# of wins season by season) in his employment agreement?Handing out insane raises while we have to have scape goats.

Not as long as Stoops is our HC. No way.Too little too late, uk back to the basement in the sec it seems
Good grief. He is the scape goat. When you have 80% of your coordinator hires over the years not qualified for the job..there's other issues. It probably ain't them....
When you consistently lose games you shouldnt- and then blame the offensive coordinator at the end if the year- that's exactly what a scapegoat is.
You..nor i.. have no clue if scangarello isn't up for the job. I sW a failure from the entire staff that leads me to believe the head coach is the reason. When it's year 10 and we see the same issues as year 2...how can the first year coordinator be the blame?
No, this season was a failure. And scangarello is being blamed.
Yet some fans think Stoops should be a top 10 paid coach... and because he has more headaches? Lmao every coach in the country has those headaches. Don't think that means you should be paid championship type money for subpar results. But hey, is what it is.. the fans that won't speak out are why we will be stuck in mediocrity for another decade while other schools we "passed" pass us up after year two or three of a new hire... were going on year 11 and can't kick a fricken extra point. 🤣🤣🤣 but hey... hand out those raises.
Stoops is the man for the job. Liam Coen is the man to lead the offense. He is the scape goat. When you have 80% of your coordinator hires over the years not qualified for the job..there's other issues. It probably ain't them....

Because we’ve had issues with 4 OC’s now. Brown, Dawson, Gran and now Rich have all been fired or we had issues with. This is a problem that’s squarely on Stoops.Regardless of how you feel about Stoops, the biggest difference between last year and this year was how the offense played. He’s now addressing the issue. Why bitch?
Some of you guys don’t remember the pre Stoops days, huh?
<<I can’t see how you can possibly keep Yenser either. Running backs and schemes were better than the Oline and they both are unemployed. That’s a mountain of turnover.>>
I'd be ok with giving Yenser another season, he did inherit a mess Wolford created as opposed to Scang who was given top QB, record setting RB and best receiving Corp UK had in my lifetime and botched it. If Yenser doesn't show signs of improvement by end of next season then cut him loose. Awfully tall task to build an O Line in one season
Eyeball emojiCoen turned down other higher-profile OC jobs and only went back to the Rams because of loyalty to Sean McVay and his familiarity with the players/franchise. He loved being at Kentucky.
Offer him a big check to get him back to Lexington and I think he'd be locked in for a few years. He can land an elite QB through the portal, keep our stud WRs happy this offseason, and would be a seamless transition.
He needs to stay with college. Both for recruiting and coaching. Plenty of experienced guys out there.,Does Stoops go the NFL or college route?
Many. Just go back and read the threads from that time.
This post is as goofy as JB Holmes golf swing. The difference is he was successful with that swing. You aren't with this post.Because we’ve had issues with 4 OC’s now. Brown, Dawson, Gran and now Rich have all been fired or we had issues with. This is a problem that’s squarely on Stoops.
I’m tired of hearing about the pre Stoops days as an excuse for why we can’t have a functioning offense more than once every 3/4 years. Prior to Stoops, we never had the investment we do now. Rich Brooks retired because Mitch wouldn’t give him a tenth of what he’s given Stoops in terms of support for the program. It’s a lazy argument to accept horrible offenses under Stoops despite being in the top 20 highest paid coaches because we sucked with Joker.
I did.. no one complained about a top 40 offense while we won a zillion games. C'mon dude.....Many. Just go back and read the threads from that time.
Presumably the difference between book smart and the application of that intelligence to create an offensive system.Scang was a savant, according to all of the reports out of UK. He was an encyclopedia of football knowledge. White praised him. Stoops praised him. What the hell happened?
Just because you’re tired of hearing about it doesn’t mean it isn’t important when talking about where we stand as a program. So he hasn’t been perfect with OCs, he’s at least trying to fix the issue instead of being content with going 7-5. Your post is the perfect example of why the pre Stoops days matter. 10 years ago we would be celebrating 7 wins and a bowl game. We are now firing coordinators because we won 7 games and didn’t live up to expectations.Because we’ve had issues with 4 OC’s now. Brown, Dawson, Gran and now Rich have all been fired or we had issues with. This is a problem that’s squarely on Stoops.

Much like Jason Garrett. Smart guy, tons of knowledge, mediocre to bad OC and terrible HC.Presumably the difference between book smart and the application of that intelligence to create an offensive system.
