I agree with the OP. The teeth gnashing is from weak people who do not actually believe that UK is the bluest of blue. Things work out for the better....most often. This will as well.

Some people will never be fine. They'll automatically oppose and denigrate any candidate that gets offered.

Players in the portal haven't even really started committing yet. There is time. UK must take its time and make the right hire. Drew would have been a suspect hiring. Yes, what he did at Baylor was amazing. Yes, he's a great coach. He's an underdog kind of guy, though. Kentucky isn't an underdog guy kind of program. Just have patience.

I understand fans wanting a specific coach, but I don't understand the fear that UK will fade into college basketball irrelevance if we don't get him. There are plenty of guys that can win at UK.

I can wait if it's the right fit, I sure as hell don't want to hire somebody just to say ok, we have a coach before the weekend. Things can change quickly, what looked not possible, may be possible next week. This decision is too important for a hasty decision just to satisfy some that are worried about getting a good coach. Kentucky will get a good coach.
