That shirt really got folks triggered. I didn’t like it either. But I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since he’s still a baby basically. Maybe he had no idea the backlash it would cause. Or maybe he didn’t care. Or maybe he didn’t have any arky shorts which is entirely possible. Shirts are easier to come by. I’m not yet at the stage where I can say F Reed. He grew up a few mins from me. I know Kentucky is in his blood. I also understand the bond between player and coach.

I can't take any response seriously if you think that you're the authority on Sheppard not being a lottery pick in the 2025 draft. Outside of the top 2 picks, how exactly is this draft deeper than last year? Answer: it's not.
And yes, I can absolutely think that a kid can be drafted high and still think that they will have to play for their NBA lives on a year-by-year basis post-first contract. At least half of the lottery picks on a yearly basis meet that criteria. So your false choice fallacy doesn't fit here.

I had heard, I think KSR, say Cal and his assistant would read message board and media quotes to the players and tell them they don’t really love you and such. They love the one and done because it lets them see them on a level playing field and not be a Kwame Brown or Randolph Morris.
They know 99% aren’t ready to contribute right away.
But they would rather train them to the NBA than make them unlearn college habits.
And why would I stay in college, where I might get hurt to train when I can go make 40 million and train and if I get hurt have access to the best medical people in the team's area?

If you look at draft history, believe it or not, there are just as many busts off drafting one and done players than straight from high school. Kwame Brown is always the go to, but Anthony Bennett was almost just as bad.
I'm quite fine. It isn't as if I go to bed thinking about Cal. I never think about him unless this forum decides to bring him up. I simply have such little respect for him that I wouldn't shake his hand if offered. It's not a big deal. He's just another useless scumbag con artist.

If when his life ends he leaves behind 100M vs 150M, how much difference will that really make in how quality of a life he had.
I'm not saying he made a bad decision, I just believe those that are acting like he had no choice are off base. Super talented people choose lower paying professions all the time. And by the way it isn't like he would have been top half of one percent doing it the other way.

This. The important things in life are the memories. He would have been godlike on campus and around the state.
Great college player........not so much. Outside of this fan base in 10 year (unless he makes a huge splash in the NBA) no one outside of the BBN will remember him at all. And several on here are already trying to forget him but that will be difficult by saying everyday that they are forgetting him.
Not sure but he's under 20 years old and will have many years left in his life (hopefully) to make memories that the overwhelming majority of people can only dream about. Also I'm sure people he cares about will pretty much feel the same way about him. It's a bunch of fans who feel he slighted them that probably will hold on to something that won't forgive him.
