Reed noooo

I’m not rooting against Reed but I wouldn’t have had an Arkansas shirt on, never. Reed should have gotten to play more than he did while here. If you grow up here and your dad played here, I don’t see how you can wear their shirt on this day. He could always say he will pull for Arkansas when they are not playing Kentucky. Kentucky is different from any other program. When you bleed blue, you only wear blue.
You all are weirdos, that’s why.

The truth is he is going to make more money from his Nba contract in 5 years that his father and mother made combined in their life. Of course , he is going to show respect to the coach he feels helped him to get there.

Obviously, his decision last night showed his level of maturity. But we all knew he was not ready for NBA. The money was too good. He will hopefully learn that money comes and goes and money is not most important thing in life.

He will also learn now that gaining respect and love is a harder and longer process than losing them. From that perspective Cal and his parents didn’t do a good job preparing him for life. He is a produce of our times, where everything you do you post online for everyone to see.

I’m not mad at Reed. He only express his feelings and thoughts. It’s a free country.

Doesn't have a thing to do with what went down ON the court.
Really has nothing to do with nothing other than being something to deflect from the loss.

From everything I've read Reed bleeds blue. There's nothing wrong with being supportive of someone who was a part of your life for a year. I think most of Cal's players are more of hired gun types - let's get to the NBA, let's make $. And with NIL this will get/is worse. Some kids like Reed and Noah grew up Kentucky fans and it runs deep. I'm sure Reed wanted Kentucky to win last night.

Nowhere I said that this related to the loss. This is a normal gesture (social media post ) from an immature young man. We as adults should understand that and leave Reed alone.

Almost as bad of a decision as that mustache he was sporting.

That said, I care more about what the fans think than former players. We make this program what it is.

Reed gave us zero NCAA tournament wins, so whatever.

You guys saying there is nothing wrong with that must never have played for a team before. Yes, there is all kinds of sh!t wrong with that.

He can compliment Cal all he wants.

He absolutely should not be wearing anything that can be seen publicly other than his HS, Wildcat or Houston apparel. I

f he wants to wear a jock with Cal’s likeness near his junk, that would be fine as long as he is not parading around taking photo ops in it.

Reed personally told me he had zero thoughts of coming back once cal was gone. He loves cal.

He doesn’t bleed blue like we all assumed. He was never torn on coming back.
I got that sense pretty soon after he left too. Part of it is kids these days just dont buy into the whole tradition sentimentality like older generations do. Kinda like they dont really get the Patriotic thing either.

It shouldn’t take a PhD to see what Reed is doing.

His dad played for us and became one of our biggest heroes and legends. Contributed in two of our championship games and was the second-leading scorer in one.

Reed played for us and accomplished absolutely nothing. Came off the bench in a season he wrapped up by getting burned on defense and shooting 20% in a loss against a Horizon League school.

He’s telling himself he’s an NBA man and Kentucky means nothing to him. And he’s doing it because the alternative is telling himself he failed trying to follow in his father’s footsteps.

That’s clearly Cal’s fault. But blaming Cal can’t make him feel like he lost any less. So he takes the Stockholm Syndrome route, idolizes Cal because he can paint himself into a story where he didn’t fail at all:

the NBA is just where he is fated for huge stardom, which is a bigger deal than what his dad accomplished because the NBA is a bigger deal than college. And in that story Cal is the one who got him drafted so high.

At the deepest levels and in the honest form of Reed’s psyche this has got nothing to do with Arkansas vs Kentucky. This is all about Reed being a failure vs. Reed being destined for bigger and better things.

So I do find it a bit sad, even a bit pathetic. But I don’t really blame him for it. It’s not really any more pathetic than a lot of things twenty-year-olds do.

Agree 100%. He was Reed’s coach and Reed was a top-5 draft pick. I don’t blame him for having some level of loyalty to the guy.

Also, everyone can hate Cal but he let UK off easy by taking the Arkansas job instead of forcing a buyout. I hate how his last handful of years turned out, but the guy gave us a title, a ton of great players we all love, and some fantastic memories. The folks on here treating him like he’s enemy #1 are just ignorant. And this is coming from a guy who desperately wanted him out for several years.
Triple C is a disgusting low life. I was beyond happy to see his phony ass leave. And … I promise you I’m not ignorant at all.

I don’t know what you’ve read but take a look at the video and you’ll see him hug Cal’s nuts as well as his ex-teammates that sh*t on UK as well. The only thing I’ve read is that he’s struggling in the NBA and he organized a little camp in Kentucky where he was charging a fortune for kids to attend. I guess 40+ million isn’t enough love to support your state and the kids that worship him. What a total douche … a rich douche but still a douche.

We will probably never know, but I think you discerned this well. It's deep thought and speculative, but I think it could be very accurate.

Hahaha if that’s real dude is an idiot. Congratulations on losing every fan you have in the only state that cares about you. Wow. I expected it from most of Cal’s hired guns, but not from a guy who grew up in Kentucky. He has to know better.
There was an interview of him talking about how Cal is his coach etc wearing it. He went full retard.

Then you haven’t read much about him. He made it clear where he stands and knows UK people are pissed over it.

I hope we get a second chance against Arkansas in the SEC Tourney.
Honestly it absolutely sucked losing to him. I mean I was pissed like I was watching a Cal Team the last 5 years. Maybe looking at it long term, he got his shot in on UK, maybe everyone will shut up about it now and return it to normalcy of it’s just a regular game.

I don't like Cal one iota, but it WAS just another game to me. I'm just glad it's over. The sun came up today and I got much needed stuff accomplished.
