Razor Sharpe

Christ, if he just played it would have put a lot of our program/coach uncertainty to bed, and likely given us another Elite8, maybe even a Final 4 or title. We certainly wouldn't have lost in the 1st round.

It's sickening the damage Sharpe's selfishness has caused the program in just a few short months. Just play basketball. That's it. I don't even care if you only gave it 90% and took precautions with any injuries.. just give us another shooter/scorer that we desperately needed.

Calipari allowed it

Cal can't make him play. The only thing he could have done is kick him off the team, and that would have had next to zero affect on our team and wins, only serving to make the fans happy (which is still worth it to do, IMO). They are two separate situations within the context of the damage it did to the team. Sharpe already did his damage by not playing.. Nothing was going to fix that and force Sharpe to play.

CAL CAN KICK HIS LAZY ASS OFF THE TEAM

You guys need to understand the difference. We'd all love to have seen Cal kick his ass to the curb, but that's after the fact. It doesn't change the team going forward. There's nothing Cal did "wrong" that caused Sharpe to not play. It was out of his hands. Kicking him off the team merely served as a way for fans to strike back at Sharpe (and again, I'm all for that).

But the fact that some of you still want to put this equally on Cal while sort of let Sharpe skate by is mind boggling. Cal didn't cause this, Sharpe did. We lost to St. Peters because our shooters/scorers were injured and the future lottery pick chose not to help out. This lands on Sharpe. At least set your anger on HIM for why we didn't win.. we can be mad at Cal later for not just booting him the second he found out he wouldn't play.

Jeez y’all need to stop making excuses for Calipari. This is pathetic

Cal recruited Sharpe to play, Sharpe chose not to. The only thing Cal can do here is kick him off the team, which maybe he should.. but it doesn't change the fact that it was Sharpe who caused this. There's no other way to break it down. Being mad at Cal for this is like being mad at teacher because the student chose not to attend class. Could the teacher have called the parent? Sure. Was that the REAL person at fault here? no.

Cal lied. Cal is at fault.

The fans when he said Sharpe would play this year

LMAO.. that's pure speculation. You have no proof that Cal knew where this was going.

Look, if you think Cal was in cahoots with Sharpe, that's fine.. you can believe what you want, and I'm certainly not going to be able to change your mind.

But without links or proof, I'm not going to let you just twist information for others to take as factual. You can believe what you want, but I won't have you selling bullshit to other people without calling you out. If for nothing else, people will see you have no basis for your argument.

I'll make sure to set some time aside to say "Links?" in case you try this again. Last thing we need are people actually believing your shit.

Huck huck better have links. Links?! The words came out of Calipari’s mouth.

Just so I'm clear and everyone else is who has to read this..

You DON'T have links, and therefore proof, that Calipari lied to the fanbase or did this on purpose? No need to reply, you can just do your typical "laugh emoji" like on this post to confirm.

Here you go

“He is ways away from playing games; it may a year from now.”

HMMM very interesting because Portland just said he is a very fast learner. But it’s gonna take a year for him to play for Cal?😂

All that says is that Cal thought he was playing, at some point. That doesn't mean Cal was lying to fans. You tried, but I think you can do better.
Okay so say you’re right, he didn’t know what was happening… then he didn’t know what was happening and that is just as bad. A coach should never be taken advantage of by a player and his handlers.

I seriously doubt Cal recruited Sharpe to ride the pine. He had to know how much that would piss the fans off.

No, I’m leaning more into that Cal sincerely thought Sharpe would play, this year. But then he got told no, by the player and family.

At that point, which I do think was pretty soon after Sharpe got to campus (within that month), was when Cal lied. He tried to lead UK fans to think that one of two things was going to happen:

1) Sharpe plays soon after arriving.
2) comes back and plays the follow season.

When interviewed about Sharpe through all the concerns Cal’s stance was firm.

Either Cal lied OR Cal was taken advantage of (OR even worse, both.) All outcomes are bad.

I THINK he was lied TO ("taken advantage of", if you must), but I'm also careful here to not say things in absolutes. I have no idea what happened. That's just how I think it went down, knowing everything that we know.

The problem is, Sharpe could have pulled this with anyone.. Maybe other coahces immediately remove him, but that still doesn't change the fact that said coach spent time recruiting him, and filling a roster spot, with an elite player who ultimately doesn't play. Sharpe was going to be a loss for whatever school he went to.

If my theory is right, it doesn't matter what Cal does with Sharpe AFTER the fact.. Sharpe lied to the entire staff and university, it cost us a top5 player, and liked caused our early exit.

I'll ding Cal for 2 things here.

1. He should have removed him. I'd have loved to see it. BUT, I also know that there can be consequences to something like this.
2. Sharpe (if my above theory is correct), likely targeting Kentucky BECAUSE of Cal's players-first and pro-NBA setup. So I do think Cal has fostered the type of environment that attracts someone like Sharpe to try and pull his shenanigans.

Honestly Cal had no other choice. Simply because he was Cal.

It’s about how everyone else treats Cal, teams to Nike to refs to committees to ESPN. Look at all the dirty ways opposing recruiters have made him look like a chump. Can you imagine what would’ve happened if he had booted Sharpe off the team and he actually did come back and played next year for another team and really shone? Cal would probably never get another recruit again. Or grifters could probably make that same story work even if Sharpe went straight to the NBA and shone. Or even if Sharpe took five years to bloom and then really shone after that. There’s never been any statute of limitations on screwing our school over, and that whole effect has been multiplied ten times since we’ve had Cal.

Sharpe was a total butt hole all the way through. And it sucks that Cal had to put up with it. But realistically, he really did have to put up with it.

You keep trying to start crap but most on here know your agenda. You will be talking about Sharpe 20 years from now. Enjoy.
