I think Covid year was the only exception (due to a handful of conferences saying they weren’t going to play).
Yeah this a solid take. We won't move up much. The narrative will be the FLA didn't deserve their ranking. I'd rather us be under ranked anyway. Keep winning and the number beside the name doesn't mean much by the end of the season.
Leave them at 20 so the CATS will come out SPITTING FIRE and Nails each week. But I see them moving up quite a bit. Beating FL on the road isn't a mild win.
I don’t think some people are processing the reality of what it means for ND and A&M to lose at home to two mid-majors that lost their respective openers.

True but if we're sitting at 10-2 at the seasons end we're getting a new years 6 game. I want us to be disrespected in the polls until afternthe TN game. If we're sitting at 10-2 at the end of the season, we'll be top 10 and in a new years 6 bowl.
Thats reasonable but the way those bozos jumped UF from #31 to #12 after lucking out and winning at home over #7 Utah last week, they will look like even bigger bird brains if they dont do the same for UK esp. after we went in there and beat day ass without CRod and plus all the upsets today!

Biggest difference is initial rankings are with zero games played. Now, we are 2 games in so that big of a jump is less likely.

Point taken but is it justified after what this team did after giving up a safety to fall down 16-7 in the 2nd Quarter and kicking to the Gators from our own 20? Only to rally for 19 straight unanswered points and shut them out at the Swamp in the 2nd half without Crod? Plus all the big time upsets today? Ill hang up and listen.

Unranked teams don't make the CFP. The lengths you go to be a contrarian never ceases to amaze me. Even in a night full of positives.
This is definitely spot on, although I think we jump to about 14 while florida falls to 20-22.
We will jump to 14 if we jump everyone in front of us (plus Utah) who lost. I don’t see us jumping the 9 teams in the top 11 who won. I think we will jump NC State. Maybe we jump Miami. That would put us between 12-14.
imo this will happen. it appears utah is legit and we did what they couldn’t.
Still not convinced Utah is legit. They won big today, but it was against a FCS team who went 1-10 last year.
well they have to win out to get back top 10 respect and they probably won’t, but fwiw more than a few people think they are the best team on west coast.
I’d puke that awful Orange if TN does. We were:
- higher ranked
- beat a higher ranked team
- beat them by more
- In a tougher environment
After seeing the likes of ND and Texas AM fall we are better then alot of teams in front of us. Also throw in that favorable schedule we are not worse then the 8th best team in the country right now.
For sure. With FL out, the hype will all turn on the Vols. It already started on SEC network last night. Very little talk of UK's HUGE WIN at the swamp, but Nokia and his crew were already pumping the Vols as second best team in the East and a real contender to overtake Georgia.

This isn’t basketball, ranking means everything. Every game means everything.
Right, but not this early. It matters being unranked vs ranked, but being 15 vs 10 doesn't matter at all at this point in the season. Of course every game matters, that's why this sport is superior to basketball.
