R.J. Barrett talks Kentucky visit

Don't uk have 11 scholarships players none are seniors. None sure fire 1st round picks think knox was highest ranked plenty of guys seem to think he's not 1 and done. I think all uk players have to prove what they can do this year. They don't have a anthony davis, wall etc where you know there going high in the draft . So cal doesn't know who's going to be the on roster. And rj deciding early would he commit to uk knowing they have all those wings.

THIS.

The obsession and nut slurping of Duke/ K the past few weeks on this board has gotten ridiculous. We literally look obsessed ... like we're "inferior "

The lack of intelligence astounds me.
You havent been around long enough Frank..the stupidity on this board goes back to caveman times..the Duke fear is enough to make you vomit.

I know it but you don't...

Do you think the number 1 player in any class cares who he might have to beat out to play. RJ scored 40 on Cal and the US team. He would start and play if had every top ten player on the UK team.

The hand-wringing has nothing to do with Duke, specifically. It's whichever team is the biggest threat to Kentucky at this time. Not even a year ago it was Kansas who was returning a lot of talent and adding in a few top players.. A few years prior it was UNC with the Barnes/Marshall years, where many thought they were the title favorites.

Knox is a 1st rounder easy, probably Vanderbilt too. Barrett would play over Shai and Gabriel in a heartbeat. He may not come to UK but to think it's because he's worried about playing time is absurd.

Those are opinions those guys might not have great years who knows. Like I said none of those guys are sure 1st rounders headed into November

And what is that you just posted. An opinion. Goddamn these dorks are dumb as hell.

Dude did you really just use ndadraft.net. anybody who knows about mock drafts knows there's 1 trustworthy site draftexpress.com think Jonathan Giovany even got a job at espn for dam good work. Iol

Just being objective, so what do think now most respected mock draft only has 1 guard/wing in the mock draft.

Which recruiting service is the best? Rivals, scout or 24/7? Whichever one you choose its going to be your opinion. That is the reason why they have composite rankings. Cherry picking info that fits your wishes is not being 'objective'.

There's a good chance for this current Kentucky class to have a few guys come back next year, but that shouldn't scare off RJ. Not to mention, Kentucky's current roster is more front-court heavy, with a plethora of PF's or PF-types. Diallo will not be back next season, which is pretty evident seeing as how he was extremely close to going pro a few months back.

The only guys that could possibly have an impact on RJ are as follows:

Reddish
Zion
Langford.

Duke has one of them. Looking at this solely from that perspective, Kentucky has the advantage in terms of offering "free reign" at his position and for touches.. Now, if we get Zion, that could change.

He got the job at ESPN because he has a popular site and makes good video breakdowns. The shift has been towards video in the media you fricking dumbass. It has little to do with his ability to evaluate talent, which any NBA personnel will tell you his opinion is worthless.

If there's a position Kentucky stands to load up on for next year, it's SG/SF types. If we were talking about a premier PF, that's a different story with Washington/Gabriel/Knox/Tai/SKJ.. and even Richards to a lesser extent.

Duke seems to have made it's choice in who the offense will run through.. Kentucky has not.

Okay weren't going to agree. And your name calling is childish. Imo rj doesn't commit to uk in November. To many questions about the roster spots. Yes he'll Play but not 30 mins a night.

Serious question. How old are you and is English your first language?

Going to reply to some of the questions and some of the PM's I received here.

1. Never said anything about Duke. I said friend was told Barrett wasn't going to UK. If he goes to Duke, he chooses Duke, but that's not what anyone stated.

2. Never claimed he's always right. Share what he says I can share and never claimed to be an "insider".

3. I don't have a subscription to another board, so I have no idea who is claiming what I said but apparently I was confused with someone who is a longtime UK fan in Tubby Smith era. That's not the case.

4. Wasn't trolling at all. Just sharing info. People ask for things a lot and sometimes there isn't anything to share. Sometimes there is, but you are told to shut up. It'll be right/wrong at some point but I stand by who tells me the info because he'd know and you can look at the posting history if you like. He's shared a lot of very accurate info/not always good, but better then a lot of premium info you pay for.

5. I like the makeup of this year's roster/team a lot more then previous years because UK has more talent and size. Calipari playing 3 guard lineups was fun to watch and enjoy his ability to adapt to what he has personnel wise. I still think last year was one of his least talented team's at UK in terms of depth (only '13 I'd rank worse) and he made Elite 8. Think this group will defend better and is more versatile.

6. What you do with top talent speaks volumes. Cal at UK has had 3 #1 overall picks. Elite 8 loss, National Title, and Final Four loss on 38-1 team. 13-2 in NCAA Play with a National Title. The man and his staff have done a great job/do great job, and kids get better playing at Kentucky. Recruiting was/is/will be outstanding while he's in place.

That about covers what topics I was asked about/people wanted comments. If there is more, fire away. This isn't life/death and nobody is 100% accurate but when you have someone you know and they share things, say it's okay to say something, I share it. Hope for you it changes/is not accurate. I have no "sources" or info, don't pretend to and won't say I told you so if info is correct or shy away if it's not. Believe me, my friend prays the info isn't right and changes. He's a huge BBN fan and supporter of Cal.

"Dude" you can't even spell Givony's last name right, so it's kind of hard to take you seriously.

Not looking to get involved in this argument but I'd say two things.

I'd bet very surprised if Knox isn't a lottery pick this year.

Half of NBA personnel opinions are worthless. Givony actually puts in the work at least. He sees more college games than most NBA scouts and more international games than almost every NBA scout.

I am not worried about this kid going to Duke. It aint happening. This kid has been a Cal guy from day 1. Once this dude made it offical he wanted to play college basketball a year early, it's Cal and Kentucky. These elite kids have such insane talent levels at such early ages nowadays, by the time college recruiting is near, these elite players are pretty much PR pros and know what and how to say what they want wrote down in the media. I'm sure these kids, even the most elite ones, find college recruiting to be a pretty big deal and want it to be treated as such. If it is known where you're planning to go, the media doesn't treat it as such a big deal anymore. This kid will be at Kentucky once it's all said and done. Cal has been his coach from day 1 and when it's time to sign, it will be with Kentucky. Barrett and Zion might play in the same lineup, but Barrett and Reddish, not so sure it would work out as well. Both kids are elite and want the ball in their hands to make plays. Barrett won't go to Duke. After Duke landed Reddish, it just makes Barrett at Kentucky even more likely to happen.
