Many "average" bettors are reading about Florida being a top 25 team and still think of them as a top 10 team. Most people have any idea how the Kentucky/Florida games have been played the last 6 years. Florida could win and win big - but if you follow college football and these two teams in particular - Kentucky should be the favorite and the original 3.5 point line is what it should have been. However, any game in which the line is originally set at less than 6 is in reality a toss up. The odds makers are "trying" to move bettors to bet the team getting points in fear that people will load up on the team giving the points. The sports books make their money on hoping for a 50/50 split on betting - heavy betting on one team is usually a big loser for the bookmakers!Might be the play to use the Bonus Bets sites giving KY Bettors to load up on CATS at -1

I put money on Florida to win as an emotional hedge. If we win I'm very happy. If we lose I'm sad about the result but at least I get money out of it.
The last time I bet on Kentucky was with a $50 free bet on BetMGM last year. I placed an 11 leg parlay, all money lines, I correctly picked 10/11. The one I got wrong? Kentucky vs Vanderbilt. Would have won 5k, will never bet on UK again lol

Sharp money is typically as soon as the lines are dropped or just before kickoff. You can also sign up for services that track number of bets and the line movement throughout the week. If you do that, then you can sometimes clearly see public money going against sharp money when the majority of bets are going for one team, but the line moves in the opposite direction because the wiseguys are dropping big contrarian bets. How can we tell if its public money or sharp money? I bet a lot back in the day but not in the internet age.
No to mention, the big sportsbooks raise their limits shortly before game time because they can quantify their risk. You get how it works but did not mention bookies laying off bets up the chain until they can find a holder to take the bet. In the past before off-line betting action - not long before game time the spread would jump - in my day bookies were also good citizens.
