My 8-5 comment was directed toward your 9 win comment. You know that but choose to twist things into something they’re not. 9 mil more a year for 2 more wins? Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I never mentioned anything about 9 wins. Winning 8 once does not stack in any way up to what Stoops has accomplished at UK. Are you the one paying the 9 million? You either pay your guy or risk losing him. Apparently you are good with losing him I am not.

If it’s up to him, I would be the one paying for his players instead of playing a style of football that good players want to play for.

I wasn’t meaning he didn’t take us on an upward trajectory, he definitely did, but we have hit a plain. A plain with no hills in sight to get us to the level we deserve and need to be on.

We were in Death Valley when Stoops arrived. He got us to the base of Mount Everest but now we need someone that’s equipped with skills to start that climb. It’s a different kind of climb that requires a different kind of skills.

Level we deserve? Sheesh! So how bout you give a short list of those that are less deserving that we should quickly move ahead of?

That is just silly once again. Do you honestly believe NIL is not a huge factor at this point? Do you not believe many fan bases are ponying considerably more than UK's? Whatever the case our roster is better than anytime in the last 45 years so you have no point.

What’s keeping UK from taking the next step??? Why can’t UK become a football powerhouse. The money is there. Why let a coach limit what we can do or how far we can go?? Why not shoot for 11-12 wins seasons???

A coach isn't limiting us. Other factors the coach has no control over does.

Things like;

1. In state talent level. KY doesn't have the same talent pool that Texas, Florida, etc. That's reason 1 why we can't.

2. We don't have the money that other states have for NIL. Part of it is the big money boosters. The other part is the population of the state doesn't even come close to other states. That's reason 2.

3. This state will always care about basketball more. Regardless of anything, we will always be a basketball school. It's ok to acknowledge it. Other schools have. Just like Bama, Georgia, and others will always be football schools. They have brief periods of success in basketball but they aren't sustained. At least Stoops has provided us with unprecedented sustained success. I will also throw out that it is much easier to get basketball success than football success. One player can make the difference in basketball where one player can't impact football as much.

4. No program has turned itself into a powerhouse in the modern era. Clemson is the closest but they haven't won a title since 2018 and they have always had a better football program than UK. Program history means a lot when it comes to college football moreso than other programs including basketball. You can improve your reputation which Stoops has done more than I ever thought possible but reaching that top tier of teams and staying there is simply impossible IMO. You can reach the second tier and stay there but even that is difficult. Currently UK is fluctuating between tier 2 and tier 3 which puts them in the position to occasionally beat the powerhouses and compete for the 12 team playoff.

I think you are expecting results that while everyone would love to have them aren't really that achievable.
