Portal QB Cade McNamara

I sincerely apologize if I simply have missed a thread started on this.

As regards to portal QB Cade McNamara of Michigan, I'm hearing on Iowa boards that Kentucky is feeling pretty confident on him. True?

The moderator on Iowa's Rivals board puts 85-90% odds on McNamara to Iowa and rarely does he get into the game of such confident hype.

Interested what you're hearing.

Everything I've read says it's Iowa. Many on this board were hopeful UK could lure him here. But with no OC yet, I could see why he's looking elsewhere which all signs point to Iowa.

Not sure where anybody thought that we were feeling confident about it. Everything we've seen so far points to Iowa. He's high on our wish list, but that's it.

There's a back story here.

An Analyst on staff at Iowa the past year, and the guy whose supposed to become the new OC at Iowa, Jon Budmyr, has a relationship with the McNamara family since he recruited Cade's younger brother to Colorado State when he was there. That's what sealed it.

In fairness, the moderator on the Iowa Rivals board has been steadfast in saying for the past two months that Iowa would be getting a QB in the portal and even made a bold statement a week ago he was 90% sure it would be McNamara. It still seems unreal Iowa got themselves a QB like McNamara.

I think he qualifies as a grad transfer so that's why he could enter early. He's not even technically going to school in Ann Arbor at the moment. He's been rehabbing in California.

It’s weird but since we played you guys in the bowl game Ive been pulling for you . Hasn’t been like that for other teams . Just cause the Iowa fans were so nice , lol .

I am the same towards Kentucky. Really enjoyed my time here last December before the bowl game with you. Have navigated over here several times since.
