Made pope a top 10 paid coach in America. I’m sick man. Mitch literally did this because he wants somebody that is a polar opposite of cal. Mitch went against every booster and donor to the university because he wanted to prove a point
I’m just numb. I truthfully think this is the end of an era. UK has been regulated to Nebraska football. Uconn will overtake us in titles. Duke UNC and Kansas will chip away at our all time stats. Calipari is smearing us behind the scenes. We’re done. The UK we all loved and knew is gone.
I feel exactly like I did when we hired Billy Clyde in 2007. I turned to my college roomate and said "This isn't going to work." But this feels like even MORE of a gut punch because at least Gillespie had some NCAA tournament wins and such at A&M.
If Mitch can’t do his job as an AD and pick a dang coach he needs to be fired. A booster shouldn’t have to do it for him.
I don’t think that to be the case. It looks like we didn’t have the boosters that everyone assumed we had, including myself. With the salary Pope is to receive per year it will not cost a Booster a dime.

Kentucky has the boosters, Barnhart went rouge and did what he wanted to do, instead of doing what everybody told him to do
It depends on the buyout. If he doesn't do well, it needs to be a reasonable amount to get rid of him. You never can tell, before it's over we might be thinking the contract is too short.
No. That would be horrible. Even though I think it’s a severely irresponsible and risky hire you don’t cut off our NIL. At least give Pope the same $6 million NIL Hurley was going to get. Arkansas is doing it for Calipari and we KNOW Calipari is not a good X and O coach. Pope
May not be a great X and O coach (or maybe he is. Who knows) but we do know he’s better COACH than Calipari so why would Kentucky not give NIL to at least try and be successful?
