For the first time in my life, Oscar made me count a player's rebounds throughout the game. That's no small feat.

But it's time to move on. Sadly.

I remember Jared Pickett having a crazy rebounding game...maybe like '94 season. Oscar normalized it.

I'm trying to figure out how Kentucky plays with Dickinson on the roster? If anyone watched Michigan, they'd play him outside/facing up a lot when Tarris Reed Jr was in and it was brutal basketball to watch. Howard going Twin Towers inevitably led to a run from opponents and defensively they got killed in space and offensively it leads to rotten spacing and most CBB is filled with that if you play with 1 true big. Players need to learn to play with space and it's hard to do with young guys.

Bradshaw has a superior skill set offensively entering CBB then Reed Jr at Michigan. Michigan had 2 NBA Draft pick Wings in Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard. Their drive game was crap when they went "Twin Towers" look. It was all space/spot up. So do you just play Bradshaw away from hoop if Dickinson comes?

The current staff has been together 2 years with Oscar. NPOY season and solid follow up. Nothing to show for it in Postseason. Prior to coming back to Kentucky and bringing Coleman with him, Antigua was at Illinois. Had a lot of success with a throwback, traditional big (Kofi Cockburn) and they sucked in Postseason in NCAA's but did win a Big 10 Tournament Title in '21.

Oscar's teams are 2-4 in Postseason at Kentucky

Dickinson's teams have went Elite 8, Sweet 16, and NIT with his role growing and team success descending.

Is there a 3rd option who hasn't entered the Portal? I'd prefer that Dayton guy if he is going to return to CBB and enter Portal over both. So my vote would be let Oscar make his decision at the Deadline, let Dickinson know if he truly wants in, he can wait until at least May 11th-that way I know if anyone else is possibly going to be available and a better fit for the program too.

I’m pretty loyal. I’ll take Tshiebwe back. He is already a Cat.

But it’s a moot point, since these guys will do what they want to do and we have no control over it.

I can’t waste my time worrying about who comes back or who comes in.
He’s a consensus poy also. Really this team is lacking an Oscar. A grown man to eat glass and play next to Bradshaw. You make our guards the focal point with Oscar cleaning up the boards. He plays a role instead of being the focal point watch out.

There’s not gonna be any other transfers better than these two, let’s be real lol.

Not even a debate for me Oscar all the way. Now what I like to see happen is make Oscar a 4 and let Dickinson play the 5. Oscar will not be a 5 in the NBA so we might as well let him play that role for his final year. If Dickinson doesn't come let's start Ugo at the 5 and Oscar at the 4. Then you find stud playmakers between the 1-3 spots.

Don't know that yet. Still some players debating whether to enter the Portal--even some who are in the Draft. Some haven't decided. I'm not making anyone rush a decision and then something better comes along. You get the post/plow guys, you better surround them with elite shooting and that isn't the case with '24 roster at all. They are built to play open court basketball, not throw it down and surround the post. People can say whatever they want about Cal but one thing has been proven, he'll play to the roster he has but if he gets a plodding big...they'll throw it down and play through him and it's just ineffective basketball far too often.

Dillingham MAY be great, but we know Oscar is great. Theres no one else that I would want representing UK! Ideally, next year both Oscar and Dillingham will be wearing blue next year!

Only a U6 or TN fan would not want Oscar at KY. This isn’t even open to debate. Even Dickinson must think he is not man enough to go head to head with Oscar, if that dumb ass rumor is true. No athlete with any self respect ducks competition in a training situation. Train with the best, be the best.

Give me Oscar. Our crappy postseason play has less to do with him averaging 20 points and 20 rebounds in three tournament games and more to do with Grady going 1-9, Ty Ty going 2-10, and Reeves going 1-15.

The "Oscar hasn't won in the postseason" argument is one of the dumbest red herrings I've seen on this message board. You fellas never seem to mention the real reason we've lost those games.

Totally absurd.

I usually agree with you, but not this time. I'm not buying the "Oscar stinks in the postseason" argument when he's giving us 20 and 20 a game, while Grady, Ty Ty, and Reeves have shot a collective 4-34 (12%) in the two close-out games.

You put Michael Jordan next to teammates who shoot that poorly and he's not winning either.

I think Dickinson fits n better with the rest of the probably 4 starters. He can shoot the 3 and clear out to be a threat from there when Wagner or Dillingham drive and same with edwards. He also gives another 3 point threat on an unproven team from 3 next year.

This is actually the better argument I've seen. The "Oscar can't win in the postseason" argument is weak, and I applaud you for not using it.

Oscar deserved better the last 2 ncaa tournaments. If reeves and toppin play decent we win against ksu. If any of our guards show up last season we beat the peacocks too and if healthy I think that was an elite 8 team minimum, even with coaching deficiencies.

Ask any of us a year ago if we had a real chance to bring back Oscar, Reeves, and possibly even Collins and we'd all be going crazy right with excitement.

Absolutely! Take Oscar off this team and they don't win 10 games.

1. Hunter Dickinson | 7-1 center | Two years of eligibility | Michigan

Dickinson is arguably the most accomplished player to ever hit the transfer portal. He was a second-team All-American as a freshman and has been one of the best bigs in college basketball in his three seasons at Michigan. He’s coming off a season in which he averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. You can build an entire offense around him. He’s always been a beast as a low-post scorer. He used to be all right shoulder, but now he can go over either and even has a right jump hook. Where he really progressed last season is stepping away from the basket. He made 24 3-pointers at a 42.1 percent clip. He shot 44 percent on all jump shots, per Synergy. He can play the pick-and-pop game, can initiate dribble hand-off action and also back down his man from the perimeter. He’s a really good passer and has great hands. He’s just a highly-skilled, highly-intelligent player who also knows how to use his massive body. His limitations are on the defensive end. He has no problem near the basket and knows how to stay out of foul trouble — he commits just 2.3 fouls per 40 minutes — but where he’s vulnerable is in space. But he has good feet for a man of his size and you’ll live with that limitation considering he’s so good in every other area of the game. This is a player who could win National Player of the Year in the right system.

Im ready for a change at the 5. Oscar plays a physical brand of ball but those elbows of his will cost us. He doesn't live with the team and that is a chemistry problem.
