Asylum requests have been around forever and historically have been used in extreme instances when despot dictators imprison or potentially threaten to execute innocent residents of foreign countries. The problem in this case is that everyone CLAIMS asylum and attempts to work the system to gain entry into our country for better opportunities for their lives and families. They're not fleeing their home countries for fear of being imprisoned or persecuted ... they just don't want to go through the process and would rather jump to the front of the line for all the wrong reasons. Millions upon millions of illegals from Latin and South America could never qualify for legitimate claims of asylum. Everyone knows this to be a fact and anyone who denies it is not being honest ... but honesty is a rare commodity in this country today. An example of a legitimate grant of asylum was to the Vietnamese in the South who would have been slaughtered by the North when the US exited that country. Many came to the US and did so legitimately and rightfully so. To believe those claiming asylum at the US southern border is legitimate is laughable because everyone knows the reason for it is political and has nothing to do with lives being in danger ... all just more lies fomented by corrupt politicians.

No where did I say violence or looting was fine. But there's a HUGE difference between isolated rioting which can be handled by local and state officials and a level of rioting that would warrant saying "CALIFORNIA HAS FALLEN" and federalizing the national guard and mobilizing active duty military.
