This is why Rand Paul and libertarians never got anywhere close to the White House as candidates.

"Immigrants in the country illegally should be allowed to stay and work as long as they haven’t committed any other crimes, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul told The Enquirer on Wednesday.

But they should not be allowed to become citizens, said Paul, a Republican from Bowling Green, Kentucky, who now heads the influential Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee “I would simply say, ‘you no longer have to run from the law,’ ” Paul said of undocumented immigrants who have not committed any crimes. “If you want to work in our country and you’re willing to be a productive member of our society, you stay. And that would be the trade-off.”"

When asked who should be deported, Paul agreed with much of Trump’s immigration policies, including the deportation of criminals living in the United States illegally. The country should first deport criminals and “then decide where we go beyond that,” he said. For those who came to the country illegally but have otherwise worked and lived peacefully, Paul said they should be allowed a work permit.

“If I were in charge, I would allow people, if they are not wanted for crime, have not committed a crime, and they’ve been living here in a reasonable fashion, if they wanted to work, I’d allow them to have work permits,” Paul said. “But I wouldn’t give them a path to citizenship or a path to voting.”"

He's a RINO by definition and porridge as a "lawmaker" and grandstander in congressional hearings, never pushing hard enough, and never leading to any real action against the left.

The LAW exists for a reason. The vast majority of people working here illegally are breaking other laws besides. They aren't carrying insurance, and they're not paying taxes, for starters. A real intelligent congressman should also understand that they're not paying penalties for exporting goods into Mexico and sending their money there instead of using it within THIS economy. None of these things are good for the people, and he would understand that if he had any real understanding of and loyalty to the republic.

That's the problem with libertarians. They still want cheap labor and goods, but want to grandstand on conservative principles when it's election time. When push comes to shove, however, they won't pick up their share of the load. They'll just try to stay out of the fray.

The effectiveness of the measles vaccines is questionable, because there is no proof of it. There is simply correlation. "Correlation, (according to the medical community), does not equal causation." This is also why most deaths during the "covd outbreak" were not DUE TO covd, but were listed as WITH covd even if their tests came back negative for covd.

All the "care" providers had to have listed for their patients were "cold" or "flu" symptoms to be declared as covd and receive their 10s of thousands of dollars.

It's not science if correlation is enough here but not there. It's simply propaganda and marketing. Science has left the building

He adopts the Milton Friedman view which is there should be open borders for work but zero public assistance or subsidies.

If you're starting from new, i don't have an issue with that approach. If you come here and make it with hard work and good ideas with no government resources, that alone proves you are a productive member of society and you should be allowed. If you cant, you leave anyway from necessity.

The practical issue with that is the view was formed in the 80s and never contemplated the mess we have now. It was surely inconceivable back then that any president would literally leave the door open and help people illegally come in for 4 years.

Imo because of that, we just need a full reset. We need to ship every illegal out and lock down. Maybe someday if we get back to zero, this Friedman view can be implemented but i don't see it.

It even said in that story (or another i read) that the vaccine doesn't mean you won't get it.

If thats the case, it never met the precovid definition of vaccine. I say precovid because we all know the machine notoriously changed the definition so the covid shot could be included.

I agree with Paul. When you say the LAW exists for a reason, just what law are you referring to? You have zero data that the vast majority of illegals are breaking other laws besides. Total bs to supposedly advance your beliefs. People here legally send lots of money an goods outside the country. Is that somehow illegal to you? You want no people or goods to come or go from this country. Fortress America is you mantra. I'm loyal to the republic, not you rants. Oh yea, it's your figment that 11-12M or whatever number of illegals will ever be deported.

BTW, should people here legally that don't pay taxes or cheat on their return be deported also? Why not?

Ain't ever happening. Get over it. At the rate they're going, it won't be a million total over 4 years period.

Within the past year, the IRS has significantly upgraded their online service accounts for taxpayers and professionals. Looking forward to the modernization a group of autistic super nerds will bring.

Don’t let the same media who’ve broadcast the tax documents that were illegally leaked to Propublica convince you there’s any risk with DOGE bringing efficiency to the IRS.

Rand Paul is dead to me and we should primary his ass.
If MAGA primaried everyone they dislike, they'd be down to like 20-25% of Congress that they do like. Pretty funny. BTW, MAGA was very happy with the way Paul challenged Fauci on the source of covid & vaccines. Paul sure is a POS, now isn't he?

☝️☝️☝️☝️ these assholes don’t want peace in Ukraine, neither does Zelensky he just wants the grift to continue. About to fool around and start WWIII.

Talk now that Britain and other EU nations are set to deploy troops to Ukraine, perhaps an end around to force the US into fulfilling its obligations to NATO if any of these idiots are attacked.

History repeating itself right before our very eyes - I always wondered how people went along with the Nazi’s and allowed them to take power but we’re getting to see it real time. The EU is basically a totalitarian state, the people don’t want it but the will of the people has been nullified time and again.

Our country is at odds with itself, the media and most elements of society’s interests are at odds with most Americans. you have a subset of dopes like the Sammie’s that think we are obligated to waste trillions of tax payer dollars to support this one-world government/ censorship bullshit that has taken over Europe

Dangerous times indeed
They're going to fafo alright. What they are going to find out is that the US isn't going to throw the full weight of our military behind the effort, if any at all. If Russia takes the gloves off and rolls their asses then so be it.

Lol... ok, really scared of who the dems are going to run against our good nominee. The last three you've put up were McGrath, Booker and Grimes. Get serious.

Don't know how you think like you do, but I didn't put up any of those. Haven't voted for a Dim since Ken Lucas for Congress vs. DA Gex Williams. So pound salt.

Doesn't say they are getting checks but I would bet some are. Incompetence or maleficence? It should be easy to find out using logs to see who entered the info.

400M people. More than 110% of our population.

HOWEVER, they need to be careful not to simply TURN OFF all payments for these ss# without looking into each specific reason.

Widows and others who were eligible to receive spousal or parental social security benefits upon the death of the primary wage earner are dependent on this money, and may be included in the "false" death category. A stay at home mom of 5 with a husband who worked to support them would have no ss benefits accumulated under her ss# and so should still be eligible to receive payments from her spouse's contributions.

Funny how the IRS would take forever to get your refund back but the moment you are having to write a large check on top of what you have already paid they cash that check the second you click send.
Filing electronically, I get my Fed Return back in 3-4 weeks. Won't be a concern anyway though since we'll owe way more than we ever have this year.

I’d venture to guess that 2-4% of payments (not totals) are to dead people (not spouses). For how long that goes on who knows. Do they catch it in a year? Do they claw anything back?

They are. Even if they divorced after 15+ years & never remarried, they are eligible too in those circumstances. I pointed this out to neighbor woman whose ex died. She didn't know till then.

NFL running backs rank right up there with WRs in the impregnation game. Travis Henry and his 10 baby mamas plus Willis McGahee and his eight baby mamas say hold my beer.

Professional athletes as a group all have insane levels of dedication to their craft. They train, eat right, and study film.

Its always crazy to me they often have almost the exact opposite approach to their life off the court/field. I guess they really need all that structure to manage their life.

A guy in the neighborhood was caught continuing to get & cash mother's SS check. He wasn't an illegal, but should be deported for this anyway.

No different than the ER doc who is pulling 16 hr days, the chef at a 5 star restaurant, the mechanic who can work on Audi engine w/ his eyes closed, etc, etc, etc. The difference being pro athletes embrace and adopt the all about me lifestyle (there are exceptions in both categories)

This is nonsensical. There was 4 million measles cases in the US in 1963. There was 200k cases in the US in 2022.

Edited to just say US

There are panhandles every day at the top of the ramp from Watterson to Poplar Level, and at pretty much all the ramps that lead to Preston Hwy. from the Watterson or 65. When the weather is warmer there's always a gal who panhandles at the bottom of the ramp from Gene Snyder to Taylorsville Rd. That's how I go home. See her there a lot when the weather is more favorable. Honestly I think you can pick just about any off ramp in the city and find Panhandlers there at some point.
Probably been about 15 years ago, but as a "special report" one of the TV stations here in Evansville bird-dogged a panhandler, with the reporter and cameraman following him to his vehicle a couple blocks away after he was done "working" for the day. They asked him some basic questions, like why he was unable to find regular work, how much money he made panhandling, etc. Not surprisingly, he was pretty evasive and didn't like being confronted.

The best course of action is just to ignore them.

My brother went to Yale and had a professor who claimed that the link between HIV and AIDS was correlation not causation. Point is, there are a lot of really dumb "smart" people out there.
Totally is. My point is that this isn't a one off. Look at cases for each of our vaccine diseases. Mumps down, polio down, smallpox eradicated. Don't believe in or think the efficacy of flu or covid vaccine is worth getting? That's fine, but don't take your beliefs in these and extrapolate it to actual lifesaving vaccines.

This is nonsensical. There was 4 million measles cases in 1963. There was 200k cases worldwide in 2022.

Correlation. Plain and simple. Unless someone is "anti-science" like yourself. Can you even comprehend the difference between causation and correlation?

Edit-
Double checked your data, because it didnt sound anywhere close to factual, and you're pulling sht out of your ask to support your belief.

"In 2022, more than 9 million measles cases occurred worldwide, and an estimated 136 200 people, mostly children, died from the highly contagious disease, according to a recent report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO)."

Most of these cases come from regions where there are consistently the same pollutants in the environment due to similar industries and lack of environmental standards. Same goes for "polio" and associated myelitis. You've probably never looked into that, though, because you're anti-science and uninterested in facts. The symptoms of measles are also the same as symptoms of overexposure to certain chemicals and chemical treatment of products.

I watched the SNL special last night, and this scene was a major buzzkill. I've pretty much always knows that Tom Hanks was left-leaning, but this was a big F-you to Trump voters. I've lost a lot of respect for him over this. I'm not hardcore MAGA by any stretch, but this sketch is representative of SNL's disdain for conservatives since at least 2015-16 when Trump came on the scene.

Overall, I'd give the special a C+/B- grade, mostly because it was cool to see of the older sketches and performers that made the show so great when it first started out. That said, i'm certainly not planning to start watching the show again.
