I've told my story on here a few times. My sister is gay, Her and her spouse were first in line in Evansville to get a license when they legalized it. They were in the newspaper back then and everything. My sister didn't come out of the closet until around 1995 or so, but she had been living with her partner and current spouse for the better part of 10 years at that point. When she came out to the family, we were all like "Yeah? OK. We all kinda figured that anyway." and I went on about loving her like the great sister she's always been to me. They live a quiet peaceful life, they don't march in the streets or rub anything in anyone's faces. they just want to be left alone to live their normal lives and they've been successful doing just that. Many of their gay friends I've known since well before they came out and are all like part of the family.

I know that Trump was distracted (Russia, Russia, etc) his first term...really didn't know what he was doing the first year or more of it....had some bad hires....and so forth. But, did he never know or hear about all the crap with USAID? And never tried to do anything about it?
Or did he and that's the reason DOGE headed there first?

He’s had four years to plot his response to what he saw during his first term. Dems cheating in 2020 was actually in the providence of God

is State law allowed to override a Federal Law? pretty sure Trump didn't say it was left up to the states. I was always under the impression that Federal Law is the supreme law of the land and overrides it.

Well I can assure you if you want to target the top by taxing loan proceeds or “wealth” (including unrealized income), those taxes will be applied to the middle class long before those taxes help to fix any “wealth disparity”.

It’s what always happens. The income tax. Alternative minimum tax. Etc. It starts as a “tax on the rich” and always works its way down.

If you start by taxing Bezos because he wants to buy a yacht without liquidating Amazon, no doubt you’ll move to taxing Joe the plumber because he wants to buy a bass boat without selling his house.

Fair enough. I think it would behoove me to keep how I “think” the government should operate to myself. I do appreciate those that have taken the time to further explain things to me. I get excited when I see how excited you guys get when news drops these days. I’m

I’m currently reading the book “The Rational Optimist”. It’s a great book. Not a super easy read but incredibly interesting. Basically goes through society from the stone ages to present day and shows what works and what doesn’t. I think you’d really like it.

I bookmarked this. Once things slow down at home, I’ll check this out.
