It’s extremely difficult to detect sarcasm with someone as dumb as you. Those looney things that seem like obvious sarcasm are things someone like you would and do say with a straight face

It's not sarcasm. Him and his cya after he says another stupid and wrong thing is as close as he gets to sarcasm (outside of copy and paste of someone else's sarcasm).

This infographic is easy to digest, but my problem is that the top 1% have 44 trillion in assets. The bottom 50% or 167 million Americans has 3.7 trillion in total.

We’re always talking about the bottom having skin in the game, which is a phrase used when people talk about switching strictly to a consumption tax. I think DOGE will do a tremendous job at cutting the necessary pork to make a dent in our deficit, but I think we need to address this consolation of wealth if we want to be serious about lowering the debt.

And I’m not suggesting we reallocate this to the bottom. Most of this wealth trickled from the middle class. I’d like to see this reappropriated to where it belongs.

No you wouldn't.

The taxes to provide your social safety net, i.e. your welfare state, have to come from the middle class as they do in Europe. That's the only way to collect them without stunting economic activity.

In your worldview, that money was "taken" from the middle class and "given" to the corporations and wealthy. It's just not the reality. That's not what happened. "Taking it back" fixes nothing.

You bring up some really good points. Take a look at the outlays of our federal government in 2024.

  • I'd argue SS and Medicare should 100% be funded by ALL Americans as it is today, which is out of paychecks.
  • Defense should be funded by a combination of wealth taxes and imports. Wealth because we have a military to defend our wealth (not defend our jobs) and imports because we have a Navy to protect the oceans so that imports can be brought here.
  • Medicaid should probably be out of income tax.
  • Net interest should be from wealth and from imports.
  • I'm not sure what's in other mandatory but let's pull that from wealth and imports too.
  • Nondefense discretionary should probably be cut all the way down by Musk so that's gone. Ha

The wealth built up by the middle class was transferred to China while the Waltons took a cut. The problem is, the middle class let it happen by listening to Econ professor hucksters and voting for “free” trade. You get what you get.

Would like to know as well. We will be getting back into the chicken game when it warms back up. we had chickens before, but mostly bought feed through rural king or fed scraps. would love to find a reliable source for inexpensive feed.

Ripping the band aide off was the only way.
Like I said. It would be more effective in the long run if done properly.

I don't think even the staunchest MAGA people on here realize how much was wasted on DEI. Yeah, there were direct payments for DEI programs and wasted time taking DEI trainings, but the amount of economic waste in terms of hiring people who were not qualified for their jobs is what really takes the cake.

Federal judge delays Trump administration's buyout deadline for federal workers

Trump's buyout deadline has been delayed to at least Monday

So, if you have a regular job your employer can offer you a buyout....no big deal. You can walk in the office on Friday morning and by lunch you can unemployed. But the poor Federal government workers.....................

Do you know what assets are? Your house. Your car. Your business. Your PJ. Your investments. Your Balance Sheet items. In America and most of the world, you are taxed on your income. Your Profit and Loss statement.

They have ASSETS. Those assets were purchased/acquired somehow. Likely after tax if they were purchased. Inherited there was certainly a significant tax paid there too. Aside from envy or petty jealousy, why do you covet what someone else has? How does someone in that group having a lot of assets prevent you from having anything at all?

Rip one bandaid off and buy a new one with tax payer dollars.

Congress controls the purse.... Not the executive branch.
So now Trump is getting rid of waste of taxpayer dollars in one agency and creating another. 🤡

I addressed it in a follow up, but these assets didn’t appear from a cloud of smoke, but rather through calculated means that stripped them from middle class.

I get called a socialist on here for good reason, in part to my inability to fully explain my beef with the wealthy. My big problem is that wealth was stolen from the middle class and I’d love to see it returned back.

This is just staggering. The raw numbers are crazy enough but 279 media ngos? That means thousands more on the take.

Literally everything about the left is fake. There was never a drive for any of this tranny insanity. All the covid fascism. The fake votes. Its literally all fake.

I hope they get to the bottom of it all and expose every single thing thats gone on. The culmination should be all the fake votes that are undoubtedly cast in each of the last 3 or 4 elections. I started suspecting massive fraud when obama was so easily reelected even though no US president was ever reelected with such poor metrics.

Gonna say a lot of it. If they were willing to sew civil unrest abroad, they certainly wouldn't hesitate to do it here, especially in an election year when they are about to lose.

Oh they definitely did here. They already uncovered that usaid funded and organized the riots here. Then they kept those people from prosecution.

Trump should just say forget about the buyouts and fire everyone.

SCOTUS needs to reign in these corrupt judges and their injunctions.

Globalization certainly played its role in the dispariyt. But would we (you) be richer?

I don't think so. The bottom 50% of Americans are significantly richer than the bottom 50% of any other country or region, and our middle class is absurdly rich compared to any other middle class.

The "problem" is that the same is true of the rich. If we increased taxes on their assets, is that going to make all of us richer? I doubt it, not as much as taxing everyone less, government wasting less would. That's tried and true.

Only our bottom 10% are worse off.

Wealth creation and theft are two entirely different things. Only for the socialist are they the same.

Your socialist states have always generated less wealth as a natural consequence of such a worldeiw. It's no coincidence.

Since it was stolen from them you, it's your "right" for you to steal it back. No, it's not ok for you to play Robin Hood stealing from the rich. Robin Hood didn't even steal from the rich, ya know? He stole from the tax collectors, people who wasted it... sound familiar? that's DOGE.

No, I'm all for figuring out a way to generate more tax revenue. But these tired old socialist "ideas" that can't work, never have worked, aren't the way. We are the richest people to have ever existed because we don't let people just steal in the name of "reappropriating where it belongs." You aren't creating your welfare state without hurting productive Americans.

It's temporarily delayed, but we are up to 60,000 federal employees who have accepted a resignation buyout:

How do you all fall for this?

So the idea of big tax cuts appears to be blowing in the wind. House Pubs can't even make the current tax rates permanent, much less cut taxes on tips & SS, because Pub deficit hawks won't go for it w/o more spending cuts (Good for them.). Then Senate Pubs plan to put off tax cuts till late in the year. So much for campaign promises.

This from Trump should be interesting with the above:

"White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added that there will be a concerted push for no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security for seniors, no tax on overtime pay, tweaking the caps on SALT, nixing the breaks for billionaire sports team owners, and ending the carried interest loophole."

Could be Trump on Pubs.

@augustaky1

Well, I thought Augy and I might do a partnership in a small business. He was all in until I told him he would have to be the hose man, and I would drive since I'm older and taller. I was not trying to be mean it's just he cannot drive a manual transmission with shorty limbs.

After I got a couple of eff off's I knew Aug was out, also he did not like the idea of being hose man in a burglar suit. Personally I thought this was a killer idea.

Oh man, the libs are going to be so mad

Never let a leftist lecture you on a single thing! They are incapable of any critical thinking or ability to go against their political masters, Think about how crazy the left is that we have got to this place that is 100% DUE TO DEMOCRATS.

Trans stuff is proof you can get Democrats to go along with anything if they're told to by their masters.
