Him passing tariffs on them, one of our biggest allies, is going to hurt this country more so than Taiwan**. Taiwan literally doesnt have an incentive to come over and pay the higher labor and training costs.
**Though knowing him he'd use the growing threat of China as a means to bully Taiwan into moving some operations to the USA. Quid pro quo type of deal. If they don't comply, Trump won't protect Taiwan.
