My only commentary on DEI is the law of large numbers.
If only 35% of whites are qualified for x job and 35% of minorities are only qualified for x job, well that pool is significantly smaller from the minority candidate side. Factor in that same pool of candidates have other options, that has to shrink the pool from which to choose. In the end, you are going to have to settle for mediocre candidates in areas where it is critical to have the most qualified people. When you try and hit a number, you settle for less.
