I think ultimately its a winning issue if scotus can withstand the social pressure. I always relied on an intestate succession analogy but the info here shows there is actual authority too. Will easily be the biggest test for scotus in terms of application of law vs social pressure in the last 50 years.
I didn't include abortion in that because some of the key votes were Catholic, so their social pressure was actually to overturn roe.
On my socials i saw people sharing a story of some lady in Indiana that had an ice vehicle following her and her poor kids. She was able to lose them and is so worried about her family.
