Don't you understand that you're labeling minorities in positions of power a DEI hire? You're essentially saying anyone that's a minority in power is unqualified. It doesn't matter how many go to college, earn multiple degrees, have decades of experience, etc, you ignore that and use your bias to claim a minority is unqualified.
Say they were unqualified, there are still white people that are just as unqualified for a role. Why aren't they considered a DEI hire?
Kamala, while she was horrible choice, had decades of experience as a lawyer. She had to pass the bar herself, that's merit. She was elected to multiple positions, that's merit.

Lloyd Austin was 100% a DEI hire in that the numero uno reason Biden hired him was because he wanted a minority in that role. I haven't really looked into Austin's record, he could very well have been the most qualified man for the job. But the absolute primary reason Biden hired him was because he was black.
