Anymore, I go and say "that's nice" ... I've typically done my research and know where it stands relative to market and I say here's what I'm willing to write a check for ... right now. Go talk to your boss.

I’ve had them follow me out the door and then come down to my price. One guy called me about 45 minutes after I walked out and said they talked about it and are ready to sale. A fool pays asking price on used vehicles.
 
I don't post dozens of times per day. Just when I do post, it's often several together as I don't live on here, but review a lot of pages of posts at one time when I do. So my post clump together.

It sickens me to see Trump lovers here try to justify his actions with bs. So I feel the need to point those out. The series of posts suggesting the inauguration is moved inside due to security vs. his desire not to be cold is an example.

Totally agree. Funniest time ... i went all out on research and had 3-4 pages of spreadsheets with me. I walked them through it, about 20 minute presentation and said here is the highest i can go.

They came back with an offer like 100 over my max. I loudly voiced my displeasure and provided an honest assessment of my opinion of their tactic, lack of integrity, and their establishment in general, grabbed the baby seat and started to walk. They tried to say wait, wait, it's only 100 dollars. And I said dam right, you're losing a sale over 100 dollars. GFY! An hour later the car was mine at my price.

IMO all they had to say was "no, we can't do that price" but for them to come back at a nuisance amount higher just really pissed me off. I just walked them through WHY that was the most i was willing to pay. LMAO

Back in the day I was sitting in my office. Phone rang and this guy started talking. Telling me how he was a singer/songwriter just starting out but assuring me that he was going to make it. He was wanting to get 'sponsorship' from various audio companies (mics, amps, sound boards, etc). Had never heard of him.....'cause he hadn't made it yet. But he did OK.....

That was awesome! Now VH, get over your TDS and sing along young man!
 
In a way I love the idea of Trump signing all those EOs tomorrow. Certainly will kick start in a big way his term.
But it will help set precedent (Biden basically started it) of erasing what you don't like with a stroke of a pen.
Not that long ago EOs were used sparingly and were very targeted. Now, and going forward (especially with a change in party power) they'll just be a part of the process on Day 1.
Great if your guy wins....not so great when the bad guy wins.

My wife and I were sitting in the little cubicle and we gave our price. The salesman said I have to go run this by my boss. They walked by us about two or three times and then the sale manager came over. I told him I was an P.E. teacher and wanted to know what kind of game they were playing. He blew it off and said why want you let David here sell you a car? I said I will, how come you won’t? He said I can’t sell it to you for that price. I said that’s fine someone will sell me a car today and we walked out. That’s when I got a phone call 45 minutes later from Dave and he said we can sell you the car for your price. Lol

Don’t stop at security clearance. They must be fired, at minimum. And if there are any legal ramifications for knowingly lying about such matter, those should be pursued as well.

I sold cars for two years. I just did the honest approach as the price is out there. You had way more wiggle room for new cars as they’d take a losing deal (customers never believe that you lose money on a deal but the dealership doesn’t care if it helps get them to their bonus level but once they’ve already reached that level they won’t come down). Used cars, there was not a lot of wiggle room on those.

Being the salesmen sucks because you’re just a middle man, and you have spent time with a customer building rapport and then you got a dickhead manager who tries to rip someone’s head off and you gotta go in there and deal with this.

I sold 174 cars one year. On our brand’s side, like 90% of us had college degrees. In the used department were the stereotypical car salesmen.

The real POS are the sales managers and dealership manager.
 
Well we’re down to 14 hours left of the shadow government and the puppet in the suit they call POTUS. I wonder if they’re waiting until tomorrow morning to have him sign the final preemptive pardons…

I thought the actual transition was midnight tonight and tomorrow is just ceremonial. My guess is the pardons are issued already and the recipients will keep them under wraps until needed.

Well it wasn’t Joe, regardless. And if anyone asked Joe today, he’d have no idea. So better to at least wait long enough so he’s dead and can’t display his ignorance, or so that can claim he wasn’t mentally incapacitated when “he” issued the pardons.

My whole family (including my business) was buying new vehicles from a Ford dealer we knew. I would go in and the owner would ask me what I wanted to pay. He would say ok to whatever I said. I probably paid to much because with that kind of deal, I wanted to be fair to him. I hated it when he retired and sold his business. I hate haggling.

The terms of the President and the Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3d day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin.

It's why I quit after a very short foray into selling cars. The bosses would tell me to go back to the buyer with a price and I KNEW it would piss off the buyer. I was caught in the middle and would be the target of his/her ire. It was impossible. I quit after three months.

The truth is that 80% of a dealership's revenue comes from their service department. Their sales process is CRAAAAAAP. I sold a car to a guy one time, he walked in with all his paperwork perfectly organized and paperclipped. He had his financing and a check ready to go. It STILL took THREE FREAKING HOURS.
