Interesting since “greed” is what I’ve been bashing grocery stores over since they jacked prices up during COVID, along with a ton of other industries. Wish they were all like you.
Grocery stores have around a 2% profit margin you nut. Their profits went up because 2% of a much larger number is still a larger number.

Bottom line, our border needs to be closed to illegal crossers. Illegal aliens need to be deported. Birthright citizenship needs to end.

We can talk about H1Bs later.

Spend the political capital on cutting taxes.
Agreed. But I know people who trained their replacement in an IT job. One guy had been with the company for 15 years and was one of their first IT guys. They brought in a foreigner and once he was trained up they fired the American and gave his job to a 22 yo Asian kid. Paid him about half the money. That is the kind of stuff I am against. They didn't "need" a qualified worker.

Thats not accurate at all. There’s a cap on H-1B that can be brought in but you’re saying so many are being brought in by companies that the graduating population of this country just stopped trying to be EEs? Come on man.

Agree on corporate “greed” though and just so I’m clear. So you’re good with the government stepping in here and stopping these practices of hiring cheaper labor that are clearly just to boost profits? Sounds like it. And I agree. Now let’s take that thought into other industries. Any problem regulating industries like grocery chains, fast food, etc that clearly raised prices for no reason other than corporate greed? Or is that idea too far out there? And if so, why? To me, raising prices on groceries because they could get away with it during a pandemic is pure evil and crushed a lot of families.
How many years in a row have we brought in more than the cap?

Memory refresher....

I saw entire departments have to do that, willingly of of course after a nice severance. It happens when companies offshore. Thats getting mixed up with the h1b visa which is totally different.

Offshoring absolutely needs stopped. That definitely cuts into wages.

Nice story from Trump's first term:

"In the run-up to Christmas, TVA fired these 200 Americans - and had them train their foreign replacements on the way out.

They did this despite the fact that TVA is (1) a government agency; (2) founded to improve the material station of poor Americans, and (3) manages critical energy infrastructure for a large swath of the country.

My team and I proposed a plan to President Trump to reinstate the terminated American workers. Because the President of TVA cannot be fired by the President of the United States we thought President Trump should hold the TVA board members responsible - the highly-compensated decision-makers who had orchestrated the H1B worker swap. The President agreed.

He started firing TVA board members one at a time, with a demand to reinstate the Americans to their jobs. It didn’t take long before the TVA president and the remaining Board members agreed to reinstate the American workers.

At the time, some skeptical commentators said it was meaningless because it was “only” 200 jobs. But it was an important moment for two reasons. First, these 200 jobs mattered to 200 American families, especially with Christmas approaching. Second, it set an outer boundary for what short-term labor visas (which is ultimately what the H1B visa is) should NOT be used for: to replace competent American workers in a critical industry with temporary foreign visa workers just to save a buck.

There is broad agreement on the right about what H1B visas - or any other visa - should NOT be used for. The TVA showdown is an example of that. Agreeing on this common understanding is the right starting place for this incoming administration."

This shit infuriates me. Luckily, I’m in an IT environment that requires a clearance, so that doesn’t apply to me.

Ilogic 101 with Professor HymanKaplan....
Blame Biden for things out of his control like the economic issues resulting from post Covid supply chain issues, post Covid inflation and Ukraine?
But Trump gets a full pass on all things out of his control like China sending us the modern plague and all the economic impacts of Covid?

Have you noticed that your world view is that anytime anything goes wrong with democrats or someone you don't like does anything it's supposedly bc of money or greed?

Do you think grocery stores just go, you know what, mark that up 2 bucks?

You are 100% a government employee.

It's basic economics. Stores have extremely thin margins...like barely 2%. You know all that stuff in them? It doesn't magically manifest in the store. The vendor, say farmer, has higher labor costs, higher costs for materials, equipment, the fuel they use to harvest. Do you know how mich fertilizer is now? That's passed on. Those magic inventions called trucks, aka freight, don't run on feelings, they run on fuel. It costs to bring them there. It's passed on. The shelf life of perishable food is short, you have an expense and if you dont sell it, it's a loss. The store itself isn't utility free, they have air and heating, electricity.

Have you ever considered you live in a fantasy reality?

In order for stores/chains to have price gouged they would have had to collectively engaged in antitrust violations. And if they did, as sam and others seem to think, then that looks even worse for the Biden administration, because they didn't bring the hammer down on them via the Federal Trade Commission and the DOJ.

But, they didn't, just as the retailers didn't gouge.

Instead, the administration just deflected blame by mindlessly blathering on about shrinkflation, "Big Food", and how this was, in defiance of all logic, somehow Trump's fault. 🤣

Really good idea by Homan. The media is going to try to portray everyone being deported as innocent people...a weekly update to the contrary showing just how many murderers, rapists, child molesters, gang members etc. that Biden unleashed on the American people will serve to destroy their narrative. But as Homan always rightly points out...'Every illegal alien is a criminal.'

"Homan, while talking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, was asked by the founder about his thoughts on how to prepare for messaging from media outlets surrounding immigration.

Homan said, "Immigration enforcement has always been controversial. It's always been emotional. I get it. But we're a nation of laws, and we're going to enforce those laws. If you come to this country illegally, that is a crime. I'm sick and tired of hearing illegal aliens commit less crimes than American citizens. Every illegal alien is a criminal."

Homan told Kirk that he has had a number of death threats made against him since being appointed by Trump and did not bring his family to the event.

"So the hate's coming," Homan said. "But we need to control the messaging. Right? So I've told President Trump that what we need to do, do a weekly press briefing. Let's show the American people who we arrested, why we arrested them. Let's show where we arrested them. What kind of bad guys we arrested in that sanctuary city."

Guess they forgot the Jack Links beef jerky.

Sounds like a "hairy" situation?

They didn't put their best BIG foot forward?

Authorities found the deceased men huddled together in what was initially thought to be a sleeping bag/pup tent, but instead turned out to be a left-footed, size 68 Converse Chuck Taylor. The companion shoe is still at "LARGE"?

Joe probably gave them the keys. Better luck in finding $$$ in Ukraine after sending them billions more. Complete failure of Biden and his lame duck administration with the weak cybersecurity continuing to be hacked by foreign governments. Convenient timing with three weeks to the inauguration to destroy evidence and clear the system of treasury fraud and laundering from American taxpayers over the past four years.

The top link is a good read that the 'good man' argument was an illusion.

Part of it:

"Jimmy Carter flew around the world for decades, un-asked by America, on self-appointed missions of national importance, almost always involving gleefully interacting with raging antisemitic terrorist and/or Communist leaders, always working against the official policies of the ACTUALLY ELECTED Presidents.

Carter’s hatred of Israel bordered on pathological, and reeked of a sort of cloaked antisemitism that has become quite fashionable today. Somehow Jimmy Carter convinced himself that he was such an important and historic figure that he stood outside and above the U.S. systems of election and governance, even though no one other than the Yassar Arafats and Hugo Chavezs of the world asked him to do so."

Treason:

What a world. You can falsely accuse someone of sexual assault and then sue them when they call you a liar.

GD INSANE.

And the press gets to call you a "rapist" for it every day, 24 hours a day.

If the American people were properly and competently informed, instead of this corrupt information cabal, Trump would've won 60/40, if not 70/30.

It's a complete disgrace.

Well, if we're taking the gloves off (THANKFULLY) then I can breathe a little easier.

(starts to do some stretching exercises to limber up, because this could take a while)

Jimmy Carter was, with regard to practical matters, a feeble-minded, indecisive pantywaist.

There is so much to cover that I'm not even sure where to start, so I'll just stream of consciousness.

When he was ordered to Chalk River after a partial reactor meltdown (but not as serious as it was made out to be) to work with the US maintenance crew to essentially shut down the reactor. He, along with several others were lowered, in series, one at a time down to the reactor to shut it down. Carter's ONLY job was to get lowered and turn a screw with a driver for 90 seconds at a time (all the Atomic Commission, at the time, would allow. Anyway, that "harrowing experience" would turn him into a giant pvssy later in life. Stupid, unrequested arms treaties, paranoid, impractical energy policies (that fvcker set nuclear back to the stone ages)

His foreign trade agreements penalized American farmers severely . Which, as a FARMER, he should have known better.

with regards to foreign policy, he was a gigantic, blown out vagina. All of his heroes were communist dictators; Castro and Chavez for example. He was also an antisemite that would have probably paid good money to give Yasser Arafat fellatio.

He formed perhaps the most useless government agency in history, the Dept. of Education in 1979

He practically INVENTED the "meddling/interfering" pain in the ass "ex-President" role by constantly jaunting all over the world, to demean the United States.

He was a preachy self-righteous bastard, that liked to pester the American citizens, whom he detested; constantly lecturing them about turning down the HVAC, only driving 3 days a week etc. Insinuating that they should just get the f*** over it because there were more serious matters at hand. He went so far as to try and strong arm Congress into passing a national gas rationing bill/law.

He was, according to those that worked with him closely, and knew him on a deeply personal level, a fvcking mean-spirited piece of sh*t; He was petty, a sore loser, and basically a sanctimonious prick.

Hunter S. Thompson, of ALL people, said Jimmy Carter was one of the meanest guys he'd ever met.

I'm not sorry to see that old bastard go. Wish it had happened sooner. There, I said it.

These are just the highlights that come to mind right now. I could probably fill a notebook about what a horrible president and POS person he was.

I am with you. I can't say prefer but certainly I have developed a heightened interest. Plus their pubic hair's thickness is a universal measurement for a very acceptable gap tolerance in finish carpentry.
Wait whaaaat?
I'll be the judge of that.
Can you send a couple over to Kensington on Hburg rd?
Coincidently, I need to check some gap tolerances.🤏

Stated halfway houses were inhumane so he closed them. Single-handedly created the homeless crisis. Couldn't confine people to mental institutions either. Just not "American". My Grandmother was in a halfway house, she paid for that as well. She had income but was not functional to pay multiple bills due and had mental issues. (I was in my early teen years but remember vividly visiting her in her home with her house guests. (For several years..) (Black and white people.) They got along well and one person took care of the incidentals that ran the house. Six or seven strangers lived in that house but they all had their own rooms and common areas. My grandma lived well enough and came to stay with us from time to time visiting.

This was in Detroit. Ole Jimmy fixed that, my grandma died just after she was "put on her own..." Yeah, Jimmy was no saint and I have nothing good to say about him either. His "Christian" values sure never showed where I saw them other than what was advertised on TV news spots. He may have been all that but not when it counted to my family...

Some of that was cut off... had to be sure...

There seems to be a common theme here. I wonder why the left is so adamant about ignoring this. Maybe it is because they agree with them. That whould put dims somewhere on that list, yes?

Like always, libs just completely reinvent a new 'history':

They will now deify him as they will Biden when he finally stops walking and talking (being dead in the head already). They cannot have these buffoons being shed in a bad light as they already have enough trouble with the rest of the gang (Piglosi, Hillary, AOC and the quad, Maxine Waters, Pokinghaunted, etc...).
