40-50 years ago, yes. But they're pretty readily replaced these days. MIL in nursing home had one done at age 81 some 25 years ago & was fine with that hip - but not much else.

I agree that some of this is just the average dumbmasses wanting in on the act...but, there have been a few to many reports, and a couple of pics of drones flying around the area, to just disregard the whole thing. You have LEO, pilots, and drone experts all reporting sightings.
The war in Ukraine has changed everything where drone tech is concerned. Hell they made "vampire drones" that can hover over power lines to recharge themselves.
The fact that the government has nothing to say means that the drones for sure belong to them. The question is, what are they looking for?
The pics I have seen look like large sniffer drones. So, are they sniffing the airwaves for communications? Is that why the government told people to stop texting so that it would clear up the bandwaves a bit, or are they sniffing for gamma rads because they fear a dirty bomb made it ashore through the less than stellar NJ port security?
Or is it just a big psyop to see how people react? Or is it a "watch what my left hand is doing while my right slaps the taste out of your mouth" kinda thing? It is something. That is for sure.

This is shown to be true time and time again. The people who virtue signal the most don’t even come close to matching the charitable work and donations of conservatives.
They have also always been able to pay more in taxes if they wanted and they don’t but they want you to. It’s how it always is with everything. Migrants can come on over as long as it’s not my neighborhood. BLM, destroy the city and buildings as long as it’s not mine.

i heard this audio of a united airlines pilot over oregon on dec 8 to atc played on a radio show a couple of days ago.

Normal commercial aircraft don't tend to reach 50,000 feet, which is the maximum altitude for an F-22 fighter jet.
Six minutes further into the recording, at 8:46 p.m. PST, another pilot communicates with the controller, identifying himself as MEDEVAC (a medical evacuation aircraft).
"Is there traffic out about our 2 to 3 o'clock, at about, I don't know, 20 or 30 miles?"
The controller replies: "No, is that the four different lights going up and down? I'm getting a few reports. Are you seeing it right in front of you as well?" The pilot continues, "It's 2 to 3 o'clock from our position. Looks about 20 miles, going in circles."
The whole episode with Martha's Vineyard illustrated their bullshit perfectly. Their lack of self-awareness was on full display too when the migrants were bussed out and the crowd was waving and smiling to them as they left.

Been hearing this a lot the last couple of days. Coming from different sources too so it's not just "one side" or "one echo chamber" hearing this.
