I disagree that it was a mistake. They never intended to be there to shoot a gun at anyone. They were protesting peacefully and patriotically and a few in the throng were there to cause trouble and to promote a narrative that the left was concocting. Having NO weapons proves that it was a peaceful protest that never intended to overthrow anything.
