I feel like he's going to end up doing major tax reform that will end a lot of the income tax. I've seen a few podcast with some heavy hitters who have been talking to him about that and they feel like they got through. He might end income tax on people earning less than @$350k and maybe have some luxury taxes on high end products. One dude I heard talk about it was bragging he hadn't paid federal income tax 18 of the 20 years but pays more taxes to his state and county then anyone else.

By putting the tax on the consumption end you get rid of the ability to write off profits as depreciation and investment.

The only way to do a consumption tax is to pass a constitutional amendment abolishing income taxes. Otherwise we will end up with both eventually.
