They have the crimes be reported. Perps get caught. Be prosecuted. All adding to data they don't have in blue states where criminal activity is common place (and now potential criminals are released without bail or bond) and people are afraid to even report the crimes.
As I said and will always say, he's still a died in the faux wool, socialist Democrat that knows their policies don't work, but have enslaved a whole lot of people to the ideology so people like him can make money off of it. He's a crafty devil. He won't do anything about half of the stuff he rants and rails about, but it sure does generate revenue and will drive book sales and speaking engagements.
The only way they will stop killing whistle-blowers is if they make a law that any whistle-blowers dying while their testimony is being or can be used in an investigation will cause the company or institution they are testifying against to be shut down immediately. Of course it wouldn't happen, but this is revealing the total corruption of the leadership and power in this country.

There's a difference between standing up for what's right when it affects you, your bodily autonomy and your livelihood personally. (i.e. Skin in the game) Versus acting like a raging fool over something that is happening on the other side of the globe and has zero impact on you personally.
