In my opinion, the most unbelievable part of this entire covid mess is the fact that our supposed "freedoms and liberties" can be taken away at the drop of a hat by a mindless politician. The ability to work and provide for your family can be erased by a spineless official without so much as an afterthought to someone's potentially dire situation.

....and yet, there are people who don't have a problem with these draconian measures. They are either too afraid to object and would prefer to live in fear, or they simply don’t care. Either way. that is a depressing state of mind.

If these lockdowns and restrictions affected the politicians so in love with them, they would never be put in place. They don't abide by them. That's already been proven.

Why are so many people getting tested? I’ve never been tested. I’ve never been asked to get tested. No one in my family has been tested. Why are all of these people getting tested?

The downside of getting tested... you might be off work for a month. That's what is happening to many... because some companies require a "negative" test result before allowing you to come back. This happened to my son, who works for Home Depot.

It can take up to 3 months to get a negative test result back.

I know people who have it (confirmed by loss of taste and smell, in addition to sniffles, sore throat) but aren't getting tested because they can't afford being off work for a month.

I’m in the minority here, but I don’t think you’re a diehard liberal who has extreme TDS. In my opinion, based on a number of posts and replies to myself, you seem sincere.

While I totally understand why Trump’s personality and some of his Twitter rants turn people off, I personally feel like it’s hard to argue against his results the past 4 years.

Trump’s complaints for the most part come from the media being completely biased against him. I feel like that’s hard to argue. If he had the slightest bit of positive press from MSM who knows where we are today? I want the negative reported as much as anyone, but I also want the positive reported. How do you turn three peace deals in the Middle East into a “meh” or negative story? It’s amazing.

That is why it’s so hard to take the media and Trump criticism seriously. We’ve been getting it daily for 4.5 years over every little thing he says or does. I do understand some of it, especially from a personal standpoint. It’s also why it’s believable to think fraud occurred. When you have multiple attempts to remove a sitting president from office, including impeachment for no reason, it’s not hard to believe the same people who carry power would go as far to rig an election.

But that’s my view point. Just wanted to convey I think you’re a good poster even though I’m sure we disagree on this.

If the accusation is that Democrats are artificially inflating their own numbers only, and Trump still got a higher percentage, then that is pretty impressive for Trump. It would mean that his percentage would have been even higher if the numbers were not diluted.

If the accusation is that Democrats are deflating the Republican numbers, then your statement is also impressive for Trump because his percentage would have also been higher.

If there is no accusation of cheating at all and Trump got a higher percentage of the vote, then it would be further evidence that Trump's popularity has grown, polling is really bad, and the science behind polling is fallable.

So which is it?

No it’s called an understanding of the basic fact that the results in Detroit and Michigan align well with much of the rest of the country which makes the idea of some mass cheating even dumber. Trump did slightly better in big cities but significantly worse in suburbs. That’s why he lost.
