Even in Tennessee, if it’s a vendor at a gun show they have to submit a background check to TBI. However what you’re talking about is the individuals who are private sellers at gun shows, which happens just like side of the road sales and pawn shop sales. I’ve helped friends work booths at East TN gun shows and as a dealer they had to submit a background check. When I go to a gun show now in TN, as a KY resident they have to have my paper work sent to a KY FFL dealer to process the paperwork on a handgun or rifle. You could ban private sales at gun shows but you can’t stop them from going to the parking lot and making a deal or meeting up later. Their is no loophole to close unless you make peer to peer illegal without a 3rd party background check.
Even then, a department of justice study in 2016 calculated that only 0.8% of prisoners who possessed firearms during their offense came from gun shows. 43% which was the highest, came from illegal sources such as the stolen goods market.

Most of the quotes I have heard him say and read that he said do not support your claim. The Latino comment about rapists, drug dealers, etc., coming across the boarder, in particular, doesn't paint all Latinos with a broad brush. You really have to want to read racism and bigotry into them to come to that conclusion. I personally use those quotes to determine the point of view of the people I am talking to. Liberals want those comments to be racist, so they twist them in that direction and never take them in the context they were meant.

2. US Army Corp of Engineers facilities - Again, weren’t used cause... “Trump”
3. Salvation Army Med Facilities - The Gays didn’t want people dying w covid being treated by health care professionals who work for an org that supports marriage between a man and a woman. Cuomo agreed.
Because when you’re on a ventilator dying of a covid your number one concern about your nurse is “what’s their position on gay sex?”

I'm going to play devil's advocate. In many cases, did the President's wording cause an uproar, or did how the liberal media reported those comments cause the uproar. Truthfully, while I think Trump says a lot of needless crap, I think the media has created much more uproar because of the way they report things than Trump did. I will venture a guess, that although Biden can't put together 10 words without a major gaff, the reporting of his misspeaks will not take the same path as they did with Trump.

JMO but I think anyone that sells fire arms to the public should be a registered dealer like the friends you speak off and comply with background check requirements. Peer to Peer sales should be exempted. That's essentially what the Toomey/Manchin bill said that never passed. If, as you say most sales are compliant anyway than I don't see a problem, in fact I think it's only fair to the registered dealers who now have to compete against the unlicensed sellers.

Why does the state of New York, probably one of the overall wealthiest places in the world, have to rely on Federal dollars to save lives in this specific situation? That's pretty scary that the state is that dependent on the Federal government.
If the money was that important to the cause, then:
- They couldn't get a loan from one of the megabanks that conducts business in New York City?
- People like Michael Bloomberg couldn't step forward to donate the money to save lives, but he could spend $1 billion on his election bid and for other political purposes?
- ActBlue couldn't crowdfund it within 24 hours?
- Nobody could step up to volunteer without being paid?
- No company could donate the necessary supplies?
- Trump giving Federal money was the magic wand of survival to supplant all of the above alternatives?
