I do some business with TSA....not that you would be shocked but it's horrifically run on the business side as well. Ha, I said business. That word shouldn't be uttered in the same sentence as TSA.
After returning from Iraq in 2006, I applied for a job as a screener at TSA. The position, at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, was part-time, but also split-shift. 6 weeks after applying, I found another job. At any rate, TSA HR called me several times wanting to interview, even after I told them I'd found another job paying 2x more and only 1/3 as far of a drive. They still pestered the hell out of me.

Indeed. Blah blah Faux News Blah blah on Faux News and say "see, they're not sure" blah blah.

There is no debate on climate change.
** News flash from the 'Why They'd Rather Talk About Climate Change' Department **

Exclusive: Cash for Slackers, Part II.

It’s been a point of controversy that federal workers are working full time not on the job taxpayers pay them to do, but on union business....

... Even though federal workers are found to be fraudulently misreporting their time and attendance anyway.

For example, the Commerce Dept.’s inspector general found last year that 19 paralegal specialists were given so little work at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), that taxpayers paid them more than $5 million over a four-year period to spend their work days at home, doing personal chores, shopping online, watching T.V., surfing the Internet or on Facebook, or doing the laundry or the dishes....

Carry on.

Is that what O'Malley, Chafee and Sanders are running for?

ya got me. My hunch is O'Mally is setting himself up to be the Chipmunk alternative in the event she has a meltdown, Sanders just wants to push the discussion further to the left, he knows he can't be elected, don't know about Chafee.

The debates will separate the men from the boys, although I have no idea how you have a debate with 10 candidates.

I'll predict Walker w/ Rubio as VP.

Rick Perry entering the 2016 race. That makes it 10.
As I stated 4 years ago, Perry was perfect as Texas governor. He knows everybody here. He knows how to wheel and deal in Texas. Perry would likely fail as CinC or, for that matter, he will not make it out of the primaries. Becoming part of the national conversation is his intent right now.

Perry wears glasses now so I guess that is supposed to mean he isn't a moron anymore.

Man, that won't be strong enough to win it. My opinion, I know. But if that's the 2 folks reppin' the GOP, it's finished. Called it when Ron Paul was blackballed in 2012 and they tried the Romney thing. This is going that same way. Not voting for the fake tea party.

I'll end up voting Gary Johnson again, I don't care.

Perry has a Federal indictment hanging over his head that is caught up in appeals. It likely won't be resolved before the nomination. Do the Pubs really want to trot out someone in legal jeopardy?

PS - before it starts, I know that there is a argument to be made that the charges are frivolous and politically inspired - but regardless the indictment hasn't been overturned yet.

The complete digitalization of everything is going to bite us in the ass in such a royal way someday. Just is, don't know how but it will.

Pretty amazing how we just turned over our most private info, our health information, like it was nothing all for being "streamlined" or whatever. And hell, maybe it is more streamlined. But just because you can doesn't always mean you should. And it's going to **** us in the *** with a ***** coupled with a ****** and a **************** one day.

We should be applying the can/should sentiment to all kinds of things if we truly are a forward thinking and progressive people, but we really aren't.....I know that sounds counterintuitive but it isn't.

John Boehner acting like Nancy Pelosi. Pass a Bill and then we'll see what's in it. Hopefully Republicans and Democrats in the House stand up and say no on the trade bill at least until what is in the bill is made public.

Before you even posted you should have thought about that and not posted at all. But of course that would interfere with your agenda. However, Perry will not win anyway.

Sounds like the brother of the would-be-police-decapitator Boston terror suspect tried to go down the "BLACK LIVES MATTER! THE COPS SHOT HIM IN THE BACK WHILE HE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH MY POPS!" has been proven 100% FOS by surveillance footage.

It's looking more and more like Gary Johnson will make another run in '16

http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/Presidential-Hopeful-Gary-Johnson-In-Reno-303971141.html

“I always tell people I am a lot more left on social policy than Obama and I am a lot more right on fiscal policy than any Republican than you ever interviewed,” Johnson said. “Look we need to balance the Federal Budget. Give us back our individual freedom, stop with the bombing, marriage equality good thing, let's legalize marijuana, let's not build a fence across the border. Immigration is really a good thing. Let's make it as easy as possible for somebody who wants to come into this country and work to get a work visa.”

Johnson has a common sense approach about immigration. In ways it is similar to GWB "guest worker' solution where you allow immigrants to apply for a legal work visa, so you are documented and pay taxes, but you don't penalize employers and business owners. There's a lot more to it than that, of course, but he definitely doesn't support illegal immigration.

If building a 2000 mile fence were easy and foolproof we would have done it already. But it's really not feasible from a cost or an engineering standpoint. And even if it were there, if someone wants to get in the US bad enough they're going to find a way to get in.

Here's an article published by Forbes, so that should be an acceptable source for most, about the folly of the idea of building a wall.

Yea, because hackers haven't already stolen all kinds of shat from millions of people...

Read this article a while ago about quantum computing, or whatever. I'm no expert, but basically our internet will be obsolete one day. As computers continue to become more robust an capable of cracking codes in a more timely fashion, nothing will be safe. That's why you seemingly see another huge breach of some sort every few months or so. No telling what we don't know about, or what our own government is accessing. Just saw 5mil government worker info was compromised recently.

a common sense approach.

One of the dumbest goddam phrases in politics. Which is why you hear it in every one of Obama's speeches. You always know whatever is being labeled a "common sense approach" is going to be a stupid ass idea that doesn't follow common logic or sense at all.

"Well if I don't buy in to this idea, that means I don't have common sense. I guess I can't voice my concerns."

Just like "Affordable Care Act", "Freedom Act", etc. etc. Doublespeak meant to prevent questions.

It is called a deterent and it would slow it down a lot. Making things more difficult does not stop it altoghether but, it does help stem the tide.

I was talking about Gary Johnson's immigration approach. You guy's always want to bring Obama into every discussion. It's a good dodge and defer tactic, but still.

In fairness, this was a GWB shitlord board at one time.

"It rained today, damn George Dubya Bush"

Got rid of Romney because Trump ( new #11 seed) seems like he's making some noise, if for no other reason than to get himself into the debates. Romney's not gonna run anyway. Yes, I have too much time on my hands today.

Yes hiding from the truth when it offends a thin skinned Republican is always the smart move.

If I were a thinned skinned republican I would agree with you on that point. But, agenda's are what they are regardless of the target.

A deterrent would be to punish those who hire them. Fine anyone that hires them and charge them the cost to deport the worker back to their point of origin.
Make any child born on American soil have to have one parent currently citizen to gain automatic citizenship.
Drop the Cuba Wet Feet, Dry Feet policy.

Trump is going to announce his political plans on June 16th. If he jumps into the race he will get some support from the Tea Party wing of the party, perhaps enough to get him on stage for the debates.

Only about half of the illegals enter through the southern boarder, the other half come in my air, by boat or the Canadian boarder. A wall would not solve the problem and is probably the least cost-effective way to attack the issue.

Surveillance drones are now being employed which help quite a bit. One thing I have never understood, if the DOD has satellites that can read the license plate on a vehicle parked in Baghdad, why can't the same technology be employed to monitor and scan the southern boarder for illegal entry?

Incorporate drones and a wall. Stop spending money on frivolous endeavers and use that money for this purpose and our infrastucture/education/whatever (believe me, we could if we were smart enough) this has been discussed before. Billions upon billions are being wasted on wars, green companies that are going belly up, studies on stuff like shrimps on a treadmill, medical aid, free food and homes and all of the other benefits given to illegals etc.... The main reason to me that the left does not want to stop the flow of illegals is becuase that is a big part of their voting base. Before you tell me they don't vote, save your fingers. That is one of the main reasons the left is fighting against voter ID's imo.
