The context of the interactions are important. LMPD had ample time to figure out that this was #1 and had every right to be allowed access to Valhalla. I can say that it was a total cluster eff getting in there. I was there Thurs and arrived in daylight. Cannot imagine how effed up it was at 7am in the rain after a death. Certainly the cop may have had reason to be on a higher level alert. But SOMEONE there (and every cop in town was on site) had time to see that this was #1 and to realize that they needed to diffuse this. Give a ticket.I generally agree with what you are saying but am not going to throw the cop under the bus until more very specific details come out and the "video" from across the street comes out (doubtful).
I do think it was a misunderstanding and probably should have been handled differently.....but Sheffler definitely got the white glove treatment once in custody....unlike anyone else arrested for something similar.
I would just like some acknowledgement that, generally speaking, we are much quicker to side with the people we look like or identify with over those we have less in common with. Human nature and identity politics at play.
That is the root of why many Dems (not me) excuse the BLM riots and many Pubs excuse the Jan 6th riot.
You or I would still be in jail, and not have Steve Romines as our atty, though I do know Steve very well so maybe YOU wouldnt have him as your atty. LOL.
The interactions of Brianna Taylor are totally different. Not a famous pro golfer. Drugs. Fleeing from a crime vs. a traffic stop like this one in a CLEARLY marked PGA event car is different and its unfair to tie those together.
