The reason they haven't is because of the Russian oil embargo and the war in Ukraine.
Biden hates Putin way more than he loves regulating the fossil fuel industry. He knows if he cut production, it would send gas prices thru the roof and trash the economy.
He's done some window dressing regs to appease the base but nothing that has slowed production or stifled big oil.
The US has produced more oil under Biden than Trump. That's not an accident.

I’ve only ever bought individual stocks once in my life, back in the 90’s when Papa John’s was growing like gangbusters and the company I worked for did a lot of work for them. I was fresh out of college so thought why not. I don’t remember how many shares I bought, but I held onto them till the stock split and I got a nice little dividend check from it. I sold them a little while after when I need the money.
So for a novice wanting to buy a few individual stocks, where’s the best place to start and make wise choices? Is TLRY worth buying 50-100 shares of at that price?

Good questions. Couple things to keep in mind:
1. In today's no brokerage fee environment, we're no longer paying dreaded commissions. All trades are essentially fee free.
2. I've used TD Ameritrade for over 25 years. We paid $9.95 per trade up until a couple years ago. Opened a Charles Schwab Roth IRA account on January 1, 2018. Schwab purchased Ameritrade couple years ago. No trading fees policy remains in effect for now.
3. After opening a new account, investors may purchase as few as one share or as many as they like.
4. In your case, I might recommend a SoFi account. Great for new investors. Easy to use. I also maintain a SoFi account. Used account previously for trading TLRY.
5. Don't worry about IRA or Roth IRAs for new trading accounts.
6. If you search around, you can sometimes find cashback deals through Swagbucks or MyPoints or Inbox Dollars.
7. Honestly, I cannot recommend whether or not TLRY is worth investing. Company floundered until BUD announced a sale of assets to TLRY. For me, issue is more a speculative play. For example, if i purchase 100 shares for $193 and price suddenly falls to historic low of $1.60, I may purchase more.
