There is no such thing as "alternate electors". States send Electoral College electors, not individuals or parties. Those things were fake from the jump and never had the possibility of being legitimate.

None of them met the Safe Harbor standard outlined in the Electoral Count Act though. Legit EC votes have to go through a process of steps, including being approved by that state's governor. Trump's didn't. They were never legit and never would've been allowed or been legal from the start. Why are you ignoring that?
Again we've been over this. Both slates were sent by the whole government apparatus in that case, including being approved by the governor. Even then, only the first slate was technically legal. There just was no partisan political dispute over it like there would be nowadays. Nixon himself would've been the beneficiary of the votes and he accepted the others, with a huge statement of not setting precedent, because all sides agreed it was the morally correct outcome, if not the technical/legal one. Nixon didn't organize the second slate as a side thing in some plot like Trump did, the recount just wasn't done in time before the first deadline as Hawaii was a brand new state.
