While I don't wish for any significant harm to come to Fauci, I hope he catches COVID 3 more times so he continue to tout how effective this vaccine is. All you have to do is look at countries like Israel, Sweden and Finland. Israel is possibly the most vaccinated country in the entire world. And their infection rates have continued to increase with each round but they're talking about a 3rd booster. I took 2 shots and a booster then caught COVID so I'm not a radical anti-vaxxer. I just read a lot of different articles on the 'science' of this and there doesn't appear to be much upside to the vax now that the first two variations are no longer around (I think the vax did help some people not have much more serious problems with the original and first variant). A not insignificant number of articles have data that shows the vax may actually, at this point, be lowering recipients' immunity system and, as a result, those folks are catching other variants of COVID again and/or other viruses and ailments, which they may not have caught had they not taken the additional boosters. The problem for me is I don't know the authors' sources, who's funding them, what their qualifications are, etc. Who are we supposed to trust?
When 40% of the CDC's budget is funded from patents for vaccines, just how unbiased are they? The NIH is exactly the same way. In many cases, NIH researchers are put on patents that have been submitted for research/study. Think the researchers have any financial interest in a patent they're part of getting approved? Awfully difficult for me to trust anything from either of those organizations once I learned this fact.

I continue to see these posts and hear people crow about instances when someone who was fully vaccinated, double boosted, etc… and “they still got Covid.”
It makes me think many people still don’t really understand vaccines, even after the intense worldwide attention that has ensued with Covid. To be fair, I think a lot of this blame falls on shoddy practices among the media who are admittedly not medical, but they have a habit of using terminology that can lead one to believe a vaccine will “protect you from infection.”
Infection and illness are two different things.
Vaccines do not prevent infection.
Vaccines, in varying degrees of effectiveness, are aimed at helping minimize severity of illness when/if infection occurs.
With Covid, “infection” was almost inevitable at some point in time for anyone not living in a bubble.
How ill you became from Covid infection is probably driven by countless variables that we may never fully elucidate and understand. It was easy to notice older, less healthy, immunocompromised people were more likely to suffer severe illness or death. What was more baffling was why some young, health people could be “infected” with Covid and never even have a hint of symptoms, while a similarly healthy individual would end up dying on a ventilator in the ICU.
There were probably lots of folks who got vaccinated who otherwise would have been just fine without it.
There were probably lots of folks got vaccinated and it was the difference between life and death for them when they eventually caught Covid.
There were also certainly some folks who got vaccinated and it didn’t matter; they were still unfortunately overcome by Covid.
And unfortunately there were probably lots of folks who never got vaccinated, and they very well could have avoided their deaths from Covid if they had been.

Agree. No one should have ever been assuring such protection. That was irresponsible, and inappropriate. Though I will also say a certain percentage of the general public probably “perceived” they were being assured of protection when they really weren’t in many cases. Let’s face it, when it comes to these medical complexities and nuances, most the the general public are generally ignorant.
IMO, the message should have been simple and direct from the very beginning:
“These vaccines will not keep you from catching Covid. Most of you are going to catch Covid no matter what you do. These vaccines offer a fair chance of keeping some of you from dying from Covid. With this information, make your own decisions.”

Yeah, but you see, vaccines do keep you from getting ill. Real vaccines provide immunity. Before they changed the definition of what a vaccine is, that is exactly what the dictionary said.
They shouldn't have called it a vaccine. They shouldn't have told people it would keep them from getting sick, or from killing their loved ones, or that if you didn't get the shot you would straight up die, or that you are an evil asshole for refusing to put an experiment inside of your body.
Most of the snippiness you see from people here is because some of us almost lost our jobs, or did, and had to go through a bunch of BS because TPTB straight lied to people and still are.
