They are using issuing new permits as leverage to encourage more drilling to help lower the cost. Obviously it's not working as well as they would like.
Biden deserves crap for his Afghan policy, a piss poor VP, and his lack of confidence building leadership....but at the end of the day the gas prices are almost completely out of his control despite what Fox News tells you.

No not full control, but if you haven't noticed...he has zero idea what's going on, also evidenced by his refusal to fire staff. Buttplug, Ron Klain, Mayorkas, etc...these ppl should've been gone LONG ago. We have a mummy as president with gravy for brains and the left is using him for these absurd policies.

This is right on. I have several rental properties and have raised rent by closer to 17% on expiring leases this year and have had no trouble getting people to stay. Realistically I could probably raise them even more but I don't want to put good paying renters out on the street. If this doesn't correct soon, there is going to be a hunger games type scenario. It can't continue. People wonder why we want guns - it's because we are getting perilously close to a scenario where people are going to be stealing food in the very near future.

It jumped from $4.69 on Friday at a Shell near my house in Lexington to $4.99 today. And Lex is probably in the lowish end of nationwide prices. $6 gas is right around the corner. At what point to people just start stealing it at gunpoint?

He'll they are already ...local Krogers and Walmart stores are being robbed blind. Hearing, seeing stuff everyday. Local Super Walmart near me has shut down after being opened only around 10 yrs or so. When they announced the closing, and before they could sell the stuff discounted , it got much worse on everything.

No need to send Biden gaff links. I am not a Biden fan boy. I have no Biden shirts, hats or flags. Only reason he was elected was that the alternative was an anti democracy NYC con man.
Hopefully we have better choices next election.

Stores have loss prevention departments and always have to track and counter thievery. I meant people actually breaching a front door to relieve a family of their food. It will happen unless course reverses soon. That's when the real trouble begins.

You surely can't trust statistics produced by countries like China and Russia, you dolt. Regardless, the US is always going to be near the top of this list because we actually release accurate stats, and because we have such a high population of non white criminals with easy access to firearms. Stop being disingenuous.

Oil refining capacity has declined by over 1 million barrels per day since before the pandemic. That’s a huge contributing factor to current high gas prices. I’ll even concede that the Biden administration has very little to do with this drop in refining capacity.

People who talk about the number of drilling permits issued are engaging in obfuscation. Drilling permits, while nice to have, do not instantly translate into massive quantities of oil coming onto the market. And even if it did, we would still have the pinch point in refining the oil into usable products.

Biden sucks, plain and simple. Don’t buy into his arguments about energy; he clueless in this regard like he is about everything else.

Nor does he understand that not all areas available for drilling are worth drilling in. Nor does he seem to realize the massive investments new drilling requires. Those investments get a lot harder for oil/nat gas companies to make when the President has vowed to bankrupt your business.
