You m fer...me cheering for the braves is like asking me to cheer for the U6 tards....pressure is on but go Braves for you!!! sayin that for you is the equivalent of a rusty knife vasectomy for this old guy.....without numbing

You can root against them to lose the game and root for them to get one run in the next 3 innings at the same time. They can lose 10-2 for all I care, just get another run soon.

I hated the Braves in the 90s...I grew up in a small Kentucky town and when the Braves started winning all the time in the 90s everybody was a Braves fan, they all had some bulls-t story about how they had been a Braves fan their whole lives. My Dad said several times "ten years ago there wasn't one Braves fan in this county." One big local Braves fan amused him, my Dad said he was the biggest Reds fan you ever met in the 70s.

Look at this fascist scum...

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

I wanted to make sure that you saw this email about how Apple is giving Trump and his new social media app, Truth Social, a platform on the App Store, which is already available for preorder.

News about Trump’s new app broke last week, just days before a Rolling Stone exclusive revealed that organizers of the deadly white supremacist-led January 6 insurrection had “dozens of planning meetings with members of Congress and White House Staff” and organized on Facebook.1 We cannot let this happen again, which is why it is so wrong that Apple is giving white supremacy and Trump a platform after he directly incited the insurrection on social media.

Will you join nearly 100,000 MoveOn members and add your name to my petition calling on Apple and CEO Tim Cook to do the right thing and drop Trump’s new social media app from the App Store?

Thanks for all you do!

–Matthew Witten

Liberals really are trash. They truly don't understand at all what America is about.
There is a difference between the protest and what happened at the Capitol. They are not one in the same.

Gotcha . . . it’s completely understood how the right wants race taught in school.

You said you were 43? I guess all those The Dick Van Dyke Show references were a clue you were lying.

And the board has every street in the district committed to memory?
Maybe not, but they can sure put a name & street address together PDQ if they don't. Got on here saying they can tie a parent & kid together by computer. But not to address? LMAO.

That’s kind of odd because the Braves were well known for having tons of fans in every nook and cranny of this country because of the Superstation.

Now, in that era, before Internet, acquiring Braves gear was not so easy. As you noted, they weren’t good in the 70s and 80s, so your local Heck’s or Roses was not likely to carry Braves gear.

But despite the lack of Braves gear, I have little doubt that there were many Dale Murphy fans (and maybe a few “Power Alley” posters) sprinkled throughout your town.

But when ‘91 hit, the Braves got good, they slayed a giant in LA (who happened to have just acquired Strawberry), and it made sense that a previously fairly silent group all of a sudden became very vocal.

And yes, there were bandwagon fans, but that is true of virtually every winning team in every sport. But the difference with the Braves, is that unlike other professional teams that were “out of market”, you could actually watch their games without a satellite dish.

*** Addendum *** I grew up in Central Kentucky, and until about 1984/5, the only team I could watch was the Braves. Not the Reds. Not the Cubs. The Braves and only the Braves.

The Reds were not syndicated on any of our local stations until I believe 1985. And then, within a few years, they were on I believe two independents and one affiliate. The Cubs/WGN arrived about the same time.

And here's the disconnect with the strawman that the left keeps putting up. Thanks for showcasing @bushrod1965 !!! Haha what a dumbass he just admitted what everyone has been saying. Low information guy to the max.

The progression:
1st: "We aren't teaching CRT"
2nd: "it's none of your business if we are"
3rd: actually it'd teaching history are you trying to hide history bigot?!

You see cupcake, no one is saying to not teach history, everyone even admits our schools neglect a lot of the country's history. That's an argument you've made up out of thin air. So now that we've removed your remedial Joy Reid talking points,, let's get to it..

You see, CRT isn't teaching "actual history" or...wait for it...it would be called actual history. And their push would be "let's make sure we teach actual history" It's a completely separate thing. Because they know people like you are easily fooled by words. You know, bc you'd know that, say Florida, introduced legislation to teach all relevant parts of history that are left out...like slavery, Tulsa massacre, whatever else...but not crt. I'm sure you knew that tho.

I'd say, just guessing here, parents also want their kids to learn math and science since those things are nosediving. Especially on a global comparison...as opposed to ambiguous theories you can bullshit thru, which have nothing, again, to do with history.

But then again, I bet you think it's a right wing conspiracy every historian and scholar panned the 1619 project as pseudo history and nome were consulted on it.

It's cute when you try. You're doing great!

I would Lolololololololololol bit it's scary this guy votes.

No...it was mostly bandwagon. No one ever talked about the Braves the first 14 years or so of my life. Then all of a sudden all you saw was Braves gear...everybody was a Braves fan. I'm not saying there weren't a few before, but cmon...it was 93 percent bandwagon garbage in my town.

I just find it mildly fascinating because there were always Braves fans in the ‘80s when I was growing up.

I grew up in western kentucky...not all towns are the same. But those Braves 'fans' I knew back in the day were full of sh-t.

Again, why does it have to be publicly stated? They could simply register/sign in to comment and it could be verified. There is absolutely zero need to have publicly stated no matter how much you LYAO.

SOB. Yes. Front. Yes. So now am I gonna be cast aside as an old f..ck. Or are we still gonna be buds. Id still buy you a beer anytime.

I knew it! I knew when I drove you to Taco Bell and you were drunk singing Creedence Clearwater Revival that you were lying about your age. Nobody 43 would be singing that...you confused me a bit when you started singing Stone Temple Pilots but I knew.

Dale Murphy was my sports idol in the 80’s. I fell asleep many of summer nights watching Braves games as a kid.
To this day September and October 1991 pennant run and playoffs are some of my fondest sports memories. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years, I can remember it like yesterday.
