Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. I understand Carr was cooking but wouldn’t you rather have AA on the floor at the 3. I don’t get it.
AA is probably the easiest to stop because he's not quick or athletic. He's a spot up shooter. Bama was not gonna let him do what he did against Vandy in our last game. I love his heart and game. He's went above and beyond this season to help us win but this was not his game.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. He’s not a good defender or rebounder. Carr hit three threes and played well. Maybe Almonar should have gotten some of Noah’s minutes, but Ansley A. played 10 minutes (probably not consecutively) and had all zeros except for the one shot he missed. It just wasn’t the right game for him.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. He has no chance to guard a guard.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. I understand Carr was cooking but wouldn’t you rather have AA on the floor at the 3. I don’t get it.
I've noticed that he is very, very slow to get downcourt. Seems to lack speed. He can't move laterally on defense and he doesn't rebound well enough for his size. He also doesn't handle the ball or distribute. Unless you're running action to get him shots, he really isn't great.
Almonor playing the three would be such a bad decision that even I would openly begin to worry about Pope’s ability to coach. As it is, he is too slow to guard fours, much less moving to the perimeter. If you have a problem with Pope’s lineup patterns, I can get that, but he didn’t fail to play AA at SF. He succeeded at keeping him away from it entirely.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. Maybe he was sick.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. I understand Carr was cooking but wouldn’t you rather have AA on the floor at the 3. I don’t get it.
Doesn’t rebound either. He can't defend opposing wing forwards.
Then the staff has really dropped the ball not developing that part of his game.He can't defend opposing wing forwards.
We were told on this board two weeks ago that AA should start and Carr should never play a minute more.Down town starters, another one fouls out and AA played ten minutes and took one shot. I understand Carr was cooking but wouldn’t you rather have AA on the floor at the 3. I don’t get it.
Yep. I get he has limitations on defense. A lot of players do. But there is zero excuse for watching a loose ball dribble past you without making some effort to go after it. Just lazy at that pointHe puts Zero effort into rebounding, stands around on defense, and just Watches the ball doing nothing to go after it in instance of a miss.
Sit him down
Same could be said about a few other players as well. They try but just not able to hold their own against the athletes of the SEC, too physical and too fast. This is why I keep harping on Pope getting athletic skilled players next year instead of spot up shooters and trying to make them something they are not.He does nothing for you if his shot isn't falling. Like literally nothing else.
Can't win the Kentucky Derby with a mule. Then the staff has really dropped the ball not developing that part of his game.
