Man, he's hard to follow. Just all over the place in that interview. The guy has seriously lost some marbles.

That was said by Rick, and he was pretty clearly guessing. He said, basically, "how long did the NCAA take on the Syracuse case, and how long has the UNC case been going on? I can't imagine this would end before July."
He's rambling, and likely has no idea about the ncaa's timeline...
After listening to that 15 minute rant it's apparent he's at the age where he doesn't care what anyone thinks.

I have posted on this site a long time, and I have never posted on a thread like this. I am not amused by others misery. But, I have to say after watching that press conference, or whatever you call that, things are out of hand at UL. I have never heard that number of contradictions come out of one person's mouth in one interview. I feel sorry for Pitino because it appears that he knows something went down, and I even somewhat believe him that he didn't know about it. But, this will greatly tarnish his legacy and I think he is well aware of it. I am shocked that he addresses it so bluntly. It may be an indication as to how serious this is going to get.
I'm sure, in the journalism profession, national people pay attention to how the local beat portrays the situation. I'm sure some of his favorite local boys are up his ass on this one for their own sake. It's probably really pissing him off.
It 100% cuts Pitino to the quick that he hasn't been able to control the media on this issue. The main thing he did in that press conference was to lash out at just about everyone who has had the "audacity" to report and opine on the situation based on what is known at this time. That defines control freak.
I still think that Pitino very well may have not known what was going on, but the more he talks and the more he lies (whether he told Kenny Klein a day before about no post game press conference, the finger, etc.) the more easily it becomes to believe he's lying about not knowing about the strippers, ho's, etc. in the dorm.

So do we all think he won't speak about the scandal again? He lies so much that I can honestly say I'm officially lost in his antics.

4. Skips post game interview and said he gave everyone a 24hr notice that he wasnt doing it. Today said he gave a 48 hour notice. All 4 Louisville journalists said they were told he would show up, then were told he would come out of locker room to talk

I'm sure Pitino would have been out to talk to the press had they won the game. It's BS about it being an emotional thing - other than he's pissed he can't beat Cal. He knows he flipped off UK fans and this BS about not being allowed to talk about the scandal is just that, BS -he talks about it all the freaking time, if it's on his own terms. I've never seen anyone so completely full of crap - and one so caught up in a web of lies he doesn't even know what might be the truth anymore.

Think the worst thing to happen to this scandal in regards to UL, RP and all involved will be the lawsuit brought about by the people trying to keep the sanctity of UL and RP. My lawyer friends all say this lawsuit will bring evidence under oath, they can bring everything from finger prints on credit cards, cameras at the hotel, text messages, money orders, etc. NCAA does not have subpoena power and many of the kids who have already told NCAA. This lawsuit against her is going to be the end all, Most feel like the publisher in Bloomington and the escort has a lot of stuff just waiting to go to court, pretty much free get out of jail information and evidence.
The lawsuit opens up a can, a lot of stuff is going to be asked and has to be given, you can lie to NCAA but you cannot lie to Judge or FBI or Feds once the wire fraud aspect comes into play

My whole point in a previous post, this isn't the Rick Pitino of a couple of years ago(not to defend him) even he doesn't get off the rails this bad. He did a better job managing the K. Sypher issue

He literally contradicts himself and implicates U of L in the interview. He begins by saying she is a fraud, cannot put together two sentences, money is incorrect, security there is too tough on players... Later on he states I believe it was one person and one person only that did all of these things???
This is the exact reason they don't want this egomaniac discussing it since he is literally giving the NCAA ammo to come after him, and on one hand he will say he does not know and two minutes later he says I have spoken to "x" and they say it did not happen. His speaking out now makes me think he knows the end is near, and U of L has instructed him to throw McGee under the bus, they will say he is "retiring" for personal or health reasons, and they can tell the NCAA they will self sanction. Everytime a program loses 8 of 9 gms to UK that program morphs into what is scientifically referred to as the Universe of Losers.
If he is willing to clearly and repeatedly lie about flipping off UK fans, then on what basis should he be believed about anything else he says ...regardless the passion and emotion in which it is said?
I continue to repeatedly say that one of his biggest strengths - his over the top demand for discipline and mental toughness in his players and program - is also his biggest weakness, he is prone to lack personal discipline as has been evidenced repeatedly in his life. consequently he has experienced both huge successes in life as well as huge failures.
It is both this personal glory and shame that he is mightily struggling with accepting as his legacy. He is a product of himself - he greatly desires to be appreciated for his efforts in life but even more despises any criticisms of his personal failures ....and it has over time clearly been eating away at his being.

Rick just admitted that the sex scandal happened. From what he knows some things did happen. He knows the NCAA is going to come down hard on them.

I agree with this. I think Pitino is at odds with Jurich. The turtleneck has been oddly quiet.
Good to see that he is already starting to compare himself to Joe Paterno. This scandal will be the end of him.

The UofL board is golden now. Posters and mods are fighting amongst one another with posters saying that mods are too soft and mods saying posters have to behave, they allows more "guests" over there than UK, and their mod(Steelers) tries to act like he is some tough guy hiding behind a message board title. Their other tough guy (Zipp) wanted to know if he could mingle with the chicken "bleeps" over here. Problem is there are no old ladies over here he can push around so he won't know how to act.
