I would take Thiero back in a heartbeat. And he would be so much happier here imo.

He is only 17 and can have 10+8 with three blocks, which is hugely impressive.
I think he will be a beast and produce 15+10 and be a lottery pick next year.
I think he is a taller version of Randle with better defence and less passing ability. Pope will adjust the plays if he comes here.

Yeah, as a Center target I can be with you and more excited about it. Again, his youth leads to projection which very well could translate to being a lottery pick. But being a lottery pick at the end of the season does nothing for me, as it would likely still be based largely on potential and moreover he would then be going to the NBA rather than returning to UK.

Having a 4 that you can trust to get a post basket is at the top of my list with rebounding

Murray-Boyles is an interesting one. I like the effort, he puts it all out on the court. I was surprised by the 6'7, I really thought he was 6'9 or 6'10. I was wondering a few days ago (watching USC play) if after 2 years there, even though he is from Columbia, if he would be tired of losing and willing to leave. But also, I'm not sure he has the quickness to guard perimeter players, but his 2.9 stocks is very good (1.3blk & 1.6stl). But I do like him.
I really the idea of getting ament and then just getting a extremely physical guy to pair with him
It seemed like he was earlier in the year. Granted I haven’t watched them much in SEC play must have dropped off. He looks like a much more complete player now. He’s had 2 different stretches where he went 0-1, 0-2 5 games in a row. He has not attempted more than 2 in any game since the first 3 games of the year though. He was 6/22 before SEC play started. Not much better but closer to his average.
he is probably going to be pro. Has late first round and early second round prospect now.
Do not think we will 100% recruit a PF with three shooting ability, PF can produce in other ways and Pope can adjust the plays based on players. So the potential candidate should be wider than lists from other posts
I wasn't aware that he was from SC. That's a good point that may lessen his desire to enter the transfer portal (if he doesn't stay in the draft). We're all aware of the various reason for entering the portal, not the least of which is $$$$ (and only a hypocritical coach could really complain about that reason alone), but no way for us (me anyway) to predict who will and won't be willing to transfer or honestly whether a Power Conference program like SC has the NIL budget and willingness to keep a guy.
That's not what it really sounded like to me, SC. I think he was referring to why he came back this year. But What I was picking up was him starting to lay some groundwork for NIL being a reason he would have to consider a transfer after this season.
Yeah, not just from SC, but from the same city. He literally can go home for home cooked meal after practice.
Agreed, if anything it seems to me like Pope looks for passing first and foremost. Then it's a question of "can he shoot?" and/or "can he defend?"
