Perry shooting !!

It will be fun watching early this fall/winter. To see which guys really make that push for most playing time. I do not think with CMP that we will see guys playing that are not producing. I think when it all shakes out we will see, Robinson, Carr, Alamanor, Krissa, Butler, Oweh, Garrison, Perry, Chandler and Williams with the most playing time. Brea will be spot player I think. Been too quiet on his info.

Probably because he has an injury and hasn't played. Maybe that is why it has been quiet on his info, he hasn't played. I believe he had a wrist injury and needed some clean up procedure with it. But I do know for certain he has been hurt and not playing.

He will start day 1 but I’m hearing he will have to wear a mini fire extinguisher in case he burns the nets down.

It would really make recruiting if both Perry and Noah as freshman play more than mop up duty.
This is the all time leading scorer in Ky HS history and #5 all time scorer.

Contrary to what alot of posters think on this board, they both will play significant minutes.

These two are freaking ballers and they play for the front not the back.

They all have to do 100 free throws a day? Finally no more terrible losses because we can't hit an effing free throw?
I'm looking at you PJ Washington in that loss to K-state.

OK: if you need it more broke down those 10 will get 99% of the 200 minutes per game. If you want it further broken down, Starters will get somewhere between 24 and 26 minutes (maybe a guy on a heater a little more depending on the game). The 5 subs will get 12 to 15 minutes. That will leave a couple minutes here or there for Brea and Noah. Now that is from what I have taken out of what I have seen or heard from others that have witnessed practice. If Brea gets healthy he will and Noah will get their shot in practice to move up the ladder between now and actual hard full start of practice.

If you think we won’t see terrible losses anymore, I don’t know what to say. Every year the best teams in the country have a head scratcher or three. It happens and it is rarely because of one thing, like free throws, or because of one person.

Hard to be too mad at PJ even though his free throws cost us two years in a row. He was one of the maybe two or three at the most that played with any heart those games.

I attended three Lyon County games in this year's all-A classic. Perry reminded me so much of Indiana great Steve Alford. He is in constant motion without the ball and he beats his defender to his spots on the court, primed and ready to catch and shoot. Like someone else said, he just knows how to play.
Stretch,
Totally agree! I posted the same Steve Alford comparison to Perry in several previous threads. I saw Steve play in person when he starred at New Castle ,Indiana in the 82-83 time frame and watched many of his college games when he played for IU. I also was fortunate enough to see Travis in person at the City of Palms classic here in Ft Myers and have watched at least a dozen of his complete HS games on You Tube. Neither Perry nor Alford were blessed with "razzel dazzel, Gee Whiz" athleticisim. Instead, they were heady, intelligent and instinctive players who learned the game of basketball from their fathers who were also their High School BB coaches. Steve excelled in Bobby Knight's motion offense which featured Steve continually running his defenders into picks and screens until he got an open look. I expect Pope's offense to provide the same open looks for Travis who in my opinion has a faster release than Alford and may be a more accurate shooter.
Perry's defensive abilities have been overlooked by many people He also has the ability, like Reed Sheppard, to see a play developing and position himself to intercept the pass or interrupt the play. He had five steals in one of the Ky/ Ind all star games played this summer. One bthing is for certain. No one will out work Perry and he will leave it all on the floor every game. I expect great things from him. As an aside his father in addition to being his HS coach is also the Head Pharmacist for the local hospital in Eddyville and his mother is a Family Practice Physician.
