Again Okafor - Zero poise or character - Zero. Now he has an adult babysitter aka "security". Not sure how many 18 year old millionaires would show a lot of poise and character (though MANY have gone before Okafor and have done so) under the same conditions, but clearly his season at Duke left him feeling more entitled than building character. Lastly - to act like KG is why Karl Anthony Towns is such a great guy is beyond ridiculous. KG has had his fair share of trouble and built quite a reputation. KAT is simply loaded with poise and character - thanks to his parents, his coaches, his friends and his CHOICES! To act like Okafor has no option but to act like an ass because he's on a bad team... geez.

I wasn't really referring to you. I can buy Garnett helping Karl with on-court stuff and acclimating to the NBA. I just bristled at the idea that KG would be a stablizing influence on him, since he is not the type to need it. As much as I hate Duke, I am not laying Okafor's behavior on them or K. He is responsible for his own behavior. He's just a young guy who got tons of money thrown at him and has had his butt kissed too much. The NBA is not a friendly place for minors with way more money than they know what to do with.

No worries. Never implied anything about KG stabilizing Towns. Merely pointed out that it is very beneficial to have a hall of famer at the same position as a teammate. And Towns appears to agree based upon the article I posted.

Ski, I'm not sure what you're even talking about there, but I didn't see anything inflammatory in what you quoted. Maybe I am missing the punchline, which is possible. I've enjoyed Mark posting here, and I hope he continues to do so. I also enjoy the other respectful posters from other fan bases. Hopefully you won't run them off.

I enjoy SOME of them. Neue (who has been MIA) and Dodger are great Duke fans. Ones who don't need to be kiss-asses and will argue with dumb Kentucky posters, but will do so in a decent manner. They also don't take every chance they get to slight Kentucky and they also, amazingly don't piss off half the board.

People were pointing out that Booker had the highest 3point percentage in NBA history. I merely said he'd played like 10 games.
I personally believe that a veteran presence on the Philly roster would help Jahlil adjust better to the NBA, and especially all the losing. I brought up Towns/Garnett as an example of how a veteran presence can help and posted an article where Towns admitted how invaluable Garnett has been during his learning process.
It's not my fault that others drew ridiculous conclusions from my statement.
