Ok, I'm officially done enjoying Cals implosion.

He brought ALL of this upon himself.

Sad ending to a career he built with working HARDER than his opponents and instilling in his players an underdog attitude that inspired them to over-achieve. Then he became THE coach that could get a player to the NBA the fastest. It worked for a while because the kids worked hard to reach their goal. But then the kids and their handlers figured out that win or lose, the kids draft ranking wouldn't change.

Then, by that time, Cal was so used to his players being more talented than his opponent's, he lost that "underdog" work ethic. That was the beginning of the end. So, here he is 6 years later having LOST everything he worked so hard to build.

SAD
Try telling Justin Edwards, Dejuan Wagner, and most Cal players over the last 5 years that win or lose it won’t effect their draft status.

I'm not done watching him implode. Nope, that guy crapped all over the BBN while he screwed our program up, all so he could brag about some damn NBA draft picks.
He's a massive ass and he deserves everything coming to him.

Not Ellen though, I don't want anything bad to happen to her, she's awesome.
This , thats where I'm at . He loathed some vocal members of BBN who were calling him out , deservedly so . He literally crapped on BBN . So hes dead to me . And he looks dead on live TV .
It is kind of sad, but the man never truly understood what UK is all about. Which is mind boggling to me.
True , he really never grasp what Kentucky was . And BBN either
You guys are sad! Wow! What short memories you have. This guy took over the program when Kentucky was the laughing stock of the SEC. We had a coach that was a drunk, hanging out at the local bars, and messing with his own players girlfriends. The media was running the guy through the practice facilities.
Cal came in and immediately restored the Kentucky as the Brand of college basketball. Four final fours in 5 years and A national title. He is second in wins on the UK coaching list. Also, what about what he did for the people in Eastern Kentucky during the floods or the people in Western Kentucky during the tornadoes, or the people in Haiti during the Hurricanes. And now you are gloating over his struggles. We wonder why our society is so screwed up. Just SAD!
Go back to Facebook you idiot douchebag !! They have " we still love cal' groups , of which you might be the group admin.

No, people are not only enjoying, they are wishing and praying for it. I heard our fans everyday and just read the headlines of the post. SAD! The part of our fan base that I am ashamed of.
Wait a sec

-Were you ashamed when Cal crows like a big breasted bird after a good win at auburn (after taking some unnecessary losses early and fans discontent)

- were you ashamed when Cal calls fans basketball Bennies a label that started when the basketball Bennie lineup of Reeves Frederick Wallace were so efficient yet he rolls out Wheeler to spite fan base

- were you ashamed when Cal played his boy Wagner and Edwards over Shep and Dilly?

- were you ashamed when Cal bowed out of press conferences after a bad late season loss?

- Were you ashamed when Cal down played sec tourney while fans love that tournament?

-Were you ashamed when Cal only wanted to play his non conference neutral site game and home slate was utter trash?

This list could go on for miles..Cal crapped in this fan base for years in ways so much more then wins and losses….so spare me how mean some fans are and Csl is treated poorly. Please🤮

No, you dont get it. Cal was praised millions of times for everything he did at UK. We treated him like a God.
That guy walked on water in Lexington.
Then he made it the University of Calipari, then he used UCLA to put the squeeze on Mitch, then he turned us into a farm system, then he started losing to mid majors, then he allowed a player to take NIL, sit on the bench, refuse to play and tell us to come to games early to watch him warm up, then he had the worst season in UK history because he played his favorites, instead if his best team, then he collected the worst 2 NCAAT losses in UK history and while doing that, decided to be an asshat to the BBN.

You don't get to do these things, while making 9 million a year and just lose because the NBA draft is more important. He did this to himself and if you cant see that, it's a YOU problem.

A lot of people (including me) are making fun of Cal and rightfully so. But, his teams are always good for one or two massive wins that come out of nowhere. We better be ready to play on 2/1 because the Cats absolutely cannot allow Cal to come into Rupp and get a win

Respectfully disagree. His first couple midnight madness was impactful. The Kentucky effect. He initially "got" it. This is what makes it so maddening IMO. He "got it" and gave all Kentucky fans the bird and basically said he doesn't give 2 chits about the season and it is all about NBA for him.

I agree, but I don't think it's happening this year. He's had his chances already and he's not even coming close.
It might be the difference between coaching at UK and coaching at a mediocre program.
If he can't beat LSU, he isn't beating anybody, especially on the road.
He doesn't have the horses he had at UK to pull off those upsets and he certainly can't do it via coaching tactics.

Who gives a rats ass if you are ashamed of anything. Cal did win a title, 4 final fours and then nothing for 10 year degrading the fan base and leaving us as poor excuse of our proud heritage. He had no true love for this program…..Pope does….now look at the difference

He's a rival now, and he obviously wants to see us fall just as much.. I'd rather see him go winless and set Arkansas back years.. lord knows we could use a real bottom feeder in the SEC to get some easy wins against lol. And I want the program and fans to be vindicated in moving on from him.

Cal will probably step away from coaching, go into the business side of the sport (or flat out retire) and then eventually, he will be welcomed back.. but until then he can't lose enough imo.

Hi Brad! How you doing in Arkansas?

One of my larger hurdles in life is feeling sorry for people that get paid filthy amounts of money to fail at their job.

Some of you are way too empathetic for a coach who left our program in ashes.
Rich people are still people, they're not immune to human emotions. I don't necessarily feel sorry for Cal, but anyone who was at the top of their profession and widely respected in their industry and then seemingly overnight lost their edge, was average at best, and was being mocked for falling off would struggle to deal with it mentally.

I had posted last week that it was too early to call cal/ark a complete train wreck. I think I can now safely call it a train wreck. He must be losing the Ark fans right and left. I watched 10 minutes of the second half of Ark/Lsu last night and LSU didn't look good at all and Ark was up 6 or 8 points with 8 minutes to go, when I turned off. And I said to myself if cal loses this game the best "tweak" he can do for his team is to never come out of the locker room at half and let one of his assistants coach the 2nd half of games.

Cal had the chance to change the narrative, he chose to stay the course and flip us the bird.
He's still doing the same things that got him into this mess, so he only has himself to blame.

What's the definition of insanity?

This is a ridiculous post. If he was struggling with it mentally, then try having some damn humility. BBN would have been incredibly forgiving if he had just had some humility. But nope, the man doesn’t have it in him. He just doubled and tripled down on his arrogance.

If Cal hadn’t turned into a toxic narcissist and tried to poison everything and everyone around him, then nobody would be…but he has. No one is arguing that Cal was not legitimately great for about 10 years here. He was. No one is arguing that he didn’t do great things for the people in this state during those 10 years. He did. But people change. He’s now a narcissist, condescending asshole who tried to gaslight this entire fanbase that we weren’t seeing what we knew we were seeing, and he’s been that way for a long time. He’s earned this.

Agreed on Ellen, though. She seems like a great lady who deserves better.

The "Bennies Condescension" was the beginning of the end. Being St. Petered and losing to an accountant that TOLD you how he was going to beat you were the final straws.

BBN has their share of Bennies. As a whole, born and bred Kentuckians don't know much about baseball, football or maybe even grammar. But basketball, we know. It's the only thing we have had for decades. We might not always articulate it well, but we know way more than Cal could ever give credit. He took his insecurities out on the fans and was never contrite. It's hard to forget about those times.

I may have to drag them to the finish line in some of these games. If I have to coach that way, I will.”

So what keeps you from dragging them to the finish line?

This.

I'm honestly surprised at the people that are shaming others on behalf of a millionaire that left the way he did.

I don't "hate" Cal. But I don't feel ashamed for enjoying what's happening. We were smart enough to want out of it. We luckily got out of it. Arkansas acted like they did something by stealing our coach. And now the results tell the real story.

I think part of the frustration for people is what could have been. Calipari can recruit talent as well as anyone in the country. He refused to adapt to modern basketball. Kentucky paid the price.

1st round exit, 2nd round exit, 1st round exit. We were set up to be Arkansas with a worse record if he came back this year. We'd have the same roster (maybe minus Johnell Davis, but it's not like Arkansas has the real Johnell Davis anyways).

Since he wouldn't adapt and we had to pay the price--I'm ok with him continuing to pay the price without us.

The worst was we would have three bad games in a row, then he would pull out a squeaker and be the most condescending POS ever.

Did you see what I did there? You didn't see it did you? Narcissistic jerk.

I really dont know what TF he’s doing. Just retire at the end of the year and quit destroying your legacy. He was considered the best hire in those anonymous coaches polls norlander posts in the offseason so he’s still respected a great deal. Just hang it up before it keeps getting worse. It’s obvious Kentucky was greatly propping him up and now that he’s at a lesser program the wheels have completely fallen off. Losing to 0-3 LSU in a half empty gym. Good grief.

He should get a pass for this season. Does anyone really believe a coach can come to a new team and in the first season have them knocking off top tier opponents and looking like a title contender?
I salute your dry wit! Have a like.

It truly seems as though Cal is becoming the Michael Scott of coaching. His self awareness is totally bankrupt. Maybe he never had it. He worked hard to get to where he is. I don't doubt that. But he did not handle fame and fortune well in the public eye.

Wrong or right, the perception that his good deeds were self serving eroded the public sentiment. The kneeling and especially the losing brought out probably undeserved ire. I liked the guy. But I really don't think he liked BBN.
