Offensive Coordinator Candidates

Just interested ...where's your screen name come from and who's the veteran?
The veteran was the best man I ever knew, my father. I spent a good part of my life involved in the Yoshukai Karate association. Fighting in tournaments until almost 40 and then as instructor for about 8 years. Yoshukai means “strive for excellence “ .

truth is we suck o line playing a hurt qb can't run plays has to stay in pocket should be playing a back up why get levi hurt any worse so dude cant make pro. We play checkers not football im going stop u we punt play defense they punt so we can get better shorter field to play The hell with that play to score n win Stoops to blame not OC head coach still tells most plays run Stoops be a real dumbass to leave he be fired 3 yrs anywhere else if you dont believe that look at sec coaches aub n even tn how many coaches been fired in 10 yrs

No picking on you, but I didn't understand a word of that.

Look at the top 10 scoring teams in the NCAA. The only non power is SMU.
1 Ohio State
2 Tennessee

I would go get UT’s OC for the HC job if Stoops heads to Iowa or wherever.
UK can hire a better head coach than an OC who doesn't call plays. Wouldn't have been able to before Stoops, but definitely can now. Jamey Chadwell would honestly be my first choice. As far as OC hiring's go. Stoops has to prove to me that he's going to let the OC do his own thing first. Stop holding them to doing what he thinks is best to protect his defense and start actually trying to score points every time you have the ball.

Phil Longo is one I would like to see spoken to. I also think Joker would be a good guy to at least talk to.

As long as CMS is the head coach his assistants won’t matter. He handcuffs them and it all reverts back to his cardboard helmet era style of ball. We’ve made another very average DC into a multi millionaire that’s screwed up a program on the edge of being a competitive football team. What a shame.

Give me a Kentucky boy. Give me Rex Ryan!
🥹
Let's trade the Stoops boys for the Ryan boys.
Keep Vince Marrow.
Deal?

Why did Coen have such great success with fewer weapons?
I think this presupposes that Brown and Key are reliable or that Robinson equates to Wandale. I don't feel it's a huge difference - so won't fight the world on this - but I think Brown drops too many balls and Wandale is on a different level than Key.

I think the skill positions are collectively worse than last season, but Dingle gives me pause because he's having a breakout year. I keep going back to Robinson being so good he outshines all the 2022 guys collectively.

Plus, Levis was healthy!

Truth is, we suck. Offensive line play stinks, Levis is hurt, he can’t extend plays, has to stay in the pocket, etc. We should be playing a backup so Levis doesn’t get injured further. If he gets hurt more, he won’t do anything in the NFL. We play sissy, field position football. Stoops is a coward. Screw that shit, Mark, whenever you have the ball, play to score. Don’t blame Scang, Stoopsy meddles in the offense and tells him when to run or pass. Stoops would be an idiot to leave, he would be fired anywhere else, just look at Auburn and Tennessee: How many coaches have had their asses canned in the last decade?

Think I hit all the points.

OL play has really hampered the offense.
Just look at the resume of our oline coach. He coached O-line at Kansas during a 3-33 stretch. Just four years ago he accepted an assistant high school coaching job, before he was bailed out and went to a "quality control" coach in college. He was a buddy hire that obviously is not very good at his job. This line is no better now than it was in week 1.

I hope someone like Gran. Not in strategy, but he could recruit. As much as they want to blame NIL, I think that is a scapegoat for some guys who can't do that party of the job.

I wasn't either but looks like he's producing. Paschal, bully, and q obviously flourished. Walker is incredible and plays with an unbelievable maturity. Now Rogers is coming along.

Not sure we can expect much more from that position coach imo
Don't know he's up to these days , but would love to see Wesly Woodyard back here on the staff in some coaching capacity...see WVU AD is out. Neal Brown next?

I’d keep my eyes on a certain someone already on the sidelines replacing our RB coach as well.
Assuming you’re talking about EG that would be a home run. Eddie was RB coach for some of if not the best overall running schemes we’ve ever had. Recruited 2 of the best backs in our history (snell/Crod) Hell even had years were the only thing we could do was run. (TW/Lynn Bowden) And it happened. EG for RB coach would be too great.

Actually, Golesh does call the plays in JH's offense, although obviously JH has input. But they have worked together for a few years and are in alignment with what JH wants the offense to do, so JH has comolete trust in AG's playcalling.

The national media has really been pushing Golesh for a HC position the last few weeks, particularly after the USF HC job opened up. I suspect a G5 school will get him either this offseason or next.

Another guy that was in JH's staff at UFC was hired at Fordham a couple of years ago, who then helped the new Foedham coach install JH's offense. I don't know how the Rams did this past Saturday, but going into the day Fordham was 8-1 with the top offense in FCS. They started the install un 2021, so didn't take long to give Fordham a potent offense

Doubt it. Coen obviously wasn’t going to ever be here long he kept his house and such in LA. Hell his wife never even came to KY.

Noone really said, but seemed like he spent half the season back in LA. I'm guessing woody ran the other practices?

Seems like the Eagles run a 'pro style' offense with a mobile QB (Hurts) - who's their OC?

Judging from the comments on this board and the restlessness of the Rams fanbase with their crappy offense this year, I'd say luring Coen back is a nonstarter. Certainly the Rams have had their offensive issues with injuries but their OL is very much below average for the NFL and their 'McVay offense' has struggled to generate points as a result (sound familiar?). Even a really sound scheme without at least a decent OL struggles. Maybe that's the crux of the matter with UK.

Although, I'd like to see more Philadelphia-style pro system than SF-style. But, we may not have really seen what this system can do because of needing RBs and TEs to help an OL that has struggled all year long.

No he couldn't. His recruiting hurt the program as much as his playcalling. Took a bunch of UCF/FAU caliber guys out of Florida who had no buisness in the SEC. I can't even recall one 4 star guy that he was the lead recruiter on.

MS wouldn't/couldn’t stomach that!

Scang has made quite a few comments this week about having to play this "slow down" football and having no room for error. Even mentioned not being able to go tempo. I don't know if this is trying to cover himself and letting everyone know that Stoops ultimate recipe for winning is trying to keep the defense off the field for as long as possible. In return, it's very difficult to be successful on offense trying to play this way.

Not doubting your post just interested. Who was the buddy who hired him, Stoops? Obviously it’s not working.
