New practice facility

I heard Mitch talk about the stadium construction the other day and he said it was progressing, but that he wasn't naive enough to know that there will probably be work done the night before the first game. My question is that we have had about as mild a Winter as you can have and where we would construction be if it was like last year? I figured construction would be way ahead of schedule at this point.

While the winter has been relatively mild, the starting date of the contstruction may have been driven by the contractor, their availability to get started on the job, and the date that the contract may have specified for beginning the project. It is likely the contractor had other 'jobs' to complete prior to starting on this job so just because the weather has been pretty good does not mean they could start early if they were otherwise committed.

I totally get all that, but if you read the contract and the penalties if they do not finish it on time and then hearing statements that it will come down to the wire makes you wonder. I drive by the stadium everyday and there is a mass of people on that project daily and has been since the last home game. If the weather was terrible, I don't think they could have overcome a month or two delay. (i.e Wrigley Field bleachers).

All projects are like this. They all go down to the wire when you have such a small construction period. 10 months is not a lot of time at all to get the work done that needs to be done. There are also big penalties for a lot of projects. They all go down to the wire and they all get done. I am sure they will open up in the beginning of September with a lot of small stuff that still needs to be completed.
