Nerlens "Cheech" Noel

I bet most of my money that the ones that criticize it have never tried it in the 1st place because our so called government says it's illegal. The same government that makes millions off of taxes on alcohol, prescription drugs, and cigarettes. They have nooo clue what they'r talking about. How many weed related deaths do we have each year??? And just in case I'm wrong...thats why I said most of my money. I'd still need a little money left over to buy me a sack. But I know I'm right so winning that bet, I could buy a huge sack!

Actually, there is a huge difference between pot and a beer. Beer won't get him suspended. Pot will get him suspended and can impact his viability as a player. Any *f*ing idiot can see that. Nerlens needs to get himself straight and be accountable.

Driving after drinking will more than likely get your license suspended. Hard for a cop to know if you're driving after youve toked up...especially since you'd spend a ot of time in the restaurant drive-thru and not being frustrated having to wait so damn long...period.

Fire up that weed. I'm 300X a better worker than anyone on this board when I am smoking weed. Maybe even 500X better. Throw in some crack and I could prolly outwork the Chinese. All the Chinese. 1 billion of them.

Old people will never understand because they had it beat in their heads it' the devil so once they start to weed out, I think it will be legalized. No offense. Everyone 45 and under is probably for legilization.

if all employers did drug testing and fired for those that tested positive, AT LEAST 50% of workers would be out the door. what company could really afford to have some of their best workers gone...? some of those including their own bosses. that's why more than 60% of people want it just legalized period. those that don't want it are now the minority. it's been such a misled topic. i've been employed for same company for over 17 years, because i do my job better than those who don't smoke! those who don't smoke typically get fired for stealing, bad attitudes, and many other offenses that most smokers typically don't do. those who smoke typically have a good attitude. that's why they share. how many drinkers share their beer? the 1st president to legalize it will get the highest ratings of any president i do believe.

Aww hell.

I saw drugs and became concerned. Than I noticed it was just weed and shook my head.

I used to blaze for days in my youth. As an adult I've seen marijuana greatly help an uncle, a close friend and my childhood best friend's dad with their cancer treatments. All three used marijuana to help with nausea, loss of appetite and insomnia. It enabled them to keep food down after chemo. And every damn one could've been locked up for their treatment regiment. That's all the evidence I needed to support full federal legalization for medical marijuana and state by state ballot initiatives on recreational.

Most of the posters here are missing the point. I’m completely for legalization. Doesn’t make sense to me why it’s not. My 87 year old father is for legalization. I don’t smoke it, though, simply because my employer does random drug testing, and it’s on the list. Same goes for NN. For me, my career and family’s financial security is more important than getting high.

Their employers and, most importantly, their employers' insurers will never be.
Umm I call bullshit. I really think the tide is turning honestly.....bu5 yeah it's shame they prescribe synthetic opiates to people and its acceptable as long as it is "prescribed"....but these drugs are the most damaging not only to the body but to the human mind. It is making our youth turn to heroin. That is the sad part.
As I stated earlier....I smoke when I can sneak it because my employer says I can't do it but anyone that has tried it knows the law is complete BS.

the insurers are tied in with the pharmaceuticals... who don't want to lose out on money for their drugs who actually harm people along with helping them in some ways.... to something that just..... helps them with no real side effects. bottom line is, if it's legalized as it should be... less employers wouldn't regulate it.

Wow, kid smoked a damn joint, it’s no different from drinking a beer!

First off, he will be 24 next week; he's definitely not a "kid". I was already in a career-type job in a supervisory/management role at that age. I didn't win the genetic lottery, so I didn't get to make millions at 19 (nor am I a savant). Whether I agree with weed being illegal, is irrelevant, it is illegal to smoke weed. My company does random testing; I will be terminated if I test positive, not suspended, terminated. If I drink a beer, my work won't say anything unless it impairs my ability to work. I make low-end six figures, and this guy turned down 70 million in 4 years (this is more than 100 times what a normal person makes). It's hard for me to feel sorry for him, Kentucky player or not.

So basically from this thread there’s consensus that it’s stupid that it’s illegal but it’s still illegal

I don't feel sorry for Noel either because work comes first before play. We all agree the law is dumb but it is the law and he should only do it when he is capable of getting away with it like everyone else

Damn, Nerlens 3rd failed weed test???

Toke it up son

Hey Smart Guy! Congrats on making six figures. Good for you.

I say with great certainty that if you’re against legalized weed you’re either very old or very shitty person.

Neither is an excuse but the olds can’t help what was beat into their minds. It’s time to open up your mind and think for yourself.

To the guy that acts like smoking weed is worse than drinking a beer....smh

Always remember that the Government and the laws are not for the good citizens; they are for the ones who are unable to or unwilling to govern themselves.

Weed is illegal; drinking alcohol is not. I don't read articles; I am able to think independently. I am not against legalizing weed, per se, but as a mid to upper level manager, I don't want my employees high on weed. For most, it impairs your ability to work. I have smoked weed before; I have many friends who have. Unfortunately, I have seen many go to the harder drugs, and even a couple have died of an overdose.

I believe in personal responsibility; if you want to smoke weed and get high, that's fine, but you should be held accountable for any actions taken when high. That means, being impaired is not a good enough excuse for any wrongdoing. If your company bans weed, and you test positive, you get canned. Spare me the "he's just 18" BS; stupid choices have consequences (I expect smokers and drinkers to be wise; if you're not able to, then it's your problem), as they should. While I'm not opposed to legalizing marijuana; I believe that there should be legal penalties for those who harm others when under the influence.

pretty much! lol.

just like the consensus want lower taxes because the consensus of most people are lower class income.... yet the taxes got lowered for the most wealthy. or that the consensus don't want religion taken out of this country, but it's slowly being done that way. or that the consensus don't want national park fees being more than doubled just to be able to get into a part of OUR own land, yet they pushed it thru and it skyrocketed. or that the consensus don't want insurance premiums going up every single year to where we can't even go to the doctor even with insurance, yet it's skyrocketing as well. when are the right things going the way of the majority of the people....hmmmmm.?

I don't think it should be illegal, but, until it's legalized, you got to pay to play.

And as one the has the last day on hiring and firing, if an employee has an accident at work and takes the mandatory test, I’m gonna be way more lenient with pot in the system compared to being over the limit on alcohol at work

hahaha let me tell how much I make in a thread.

I can't pass a drug test and I make almost half a million a year. Almost. just shy of $400K

You're either in Sales, or own a business. I can't do sales for anything. I supposed that anyone can claim anything on the internet; making low-end six figures really isn't that much anymore. I would guess around 1 in three or four make this much. Out of nine children, I am the fourth highest earner. Only good thing is that I don't have to live paycheck to paycheck.....but I'm definitely not rich.

Just total bullshit weed is illegal but alcohol is not. Alcohol is so much worse for you. I’ve smoked a ton of pot and I can tell you I’ve made much better decisions while high in comparison to being drunk

You're doing well lakercat. But I'm gonna be honest here. You need some type of an addiction if you're gonna make the big bucks.

They hiring? 10 year old domestic assault (been a decade since I beat my wife) and have been to every AA meeting 3 months straight. I have the coin to show.

Just need some luck man......willing to relocate.

I'll tell ya how rich some dudes on this board are.

Facts:

I know a guy here that imports ATV's from Italy.

I once mentioned an 8th of nug on this board and had to explain to everyone what that was. They couldn't believe I bought half quarters.

That's probably true, as my job now makes me want to drink or smoke something due to the stress, but I know I can't afford to. Maybe I should own my own business. I don't really care to get rich, honestly. I want to work to live, and not live to work. I could possibly make 300-400K if I am fortunate enough to move up in the company, but the company would then own my life. I'm not sure if it's worth it. What's the point in making tons of money if you aren't able to enjoy it?

How so? One beer vs one joint. I don't think so.
In that scenario neither one will harm your body. However, alcohol has been proven to cause long term liver and brain damage. Liver damage from the toxicity (alcohol is quite literally, by definition, a poison). Brain damage because it kills brain cells at a far higher rate than weed.

Alcohol has also killed several people from simply over dosing, or from people drinking and driving. Weed cannot kill you as an “overdose” would cause you to fall asleep.

Alcohol is habit forming. Weed (not combined with any other drug) is not.

Smoking anything obviously causes lung damage. Compared to cigerettes, however, that damage is small. And when eaten (many forms of edible weed are available) that damage is completely mitigated.

Weed was originally made illegal because of politics, money, and a smear campaign. It’s all about who you know.

Soon as the right people get their ducks in a row and the right pockets get lined, this thread will be moot.

Johnson & Johnson brand weed, flown right to my doorstep by an Amazon drone.

Just wish KY would think ahead a few steps just once and legalize it through legislature. Hey Tourism, here's your next slogan: "Bourbon, Bluegrass, Basketball, and Bud."

Would look great on a license plate and look even better when we suck up a few hundred million from all the surrounding states that haven't legalized it yet. Or, we could face the humiliation of Ohio doing it first.

I say put grow houses right on top of the riverboat casinos. Fund every teacher pension through PTA Pot Brownie bake sales.

I'm probably in the 30th percentile here.

It's called being a baller. I have a 90 year old grandfather who is rich. He's a tight ass who buys nothing and has no hobbies other than selling cars and making more money. Ask him what's it for? He'll just tell you he likes to work.

I think it's that generation personally.

I am going broke on my second business. I think I'll float in a few years. Maybe. If not back to the classroom.

I wish I had landed a company job at 6 figures. Why stress? You'e got it made man.

Agreed. You need some drugs in your life man. The hard stuff.

Also agree about working so much you can't spend it. Gonna start an adult day care for dementia next year because medicare will start paying for it. Hope to make enough to hire people. The problem with running your own business is trusting someone else to run it while you're spending the profits.

Man, just get addicted to something first and worry about the other stuff later

Sound advice. If you can make a million in business while shooting coke on the daily, you can make it in business under any conditions. And that's how you become successful, defy the odds.

Many people think Money equals happiness...others think otherwise. Look at Ricky Williams, left a multi million dollar job because he wanted a better life. A better quality of life in his twilight yrs. Many thought he was crazy to walk away. Now he is a leader in the billion dollar emerging markets of Medical MJ. He is standing at the right place at the right time now...the wealth he will generate as a NFL player will be pennies to what he and his family will be making starting now and for future generations of his family still to come.
I admit I was like you crazy, but he believed in himself, went into alternative medicine and has his hands in a lot of brands and products that are to come
